The Armed Forces of Ukraine have stepped up, testing the strength of the allied forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the republics of Donbass. The Ukrainian military plans to increase efforts and advance in a number of areas where their potential allows us to count on tactical success. Alexander Khodakovsky, commander of the Vostok battalion of the NM DPR, wrote about this on July 19 on his Telegram channel.
There is no borderline that divides defeats into tangible and harmless ones - any defeat has negative consequences, whether it is a lost city, or a “backbone” in an open field. Any situation where you were punched in the teeth has a negative impact, and there are only two options: to wipe yourself off and shove what happened under the cloth, or get angry and compensate for the loss ... if there is, to whom
- noted the authoritative commander.
The military leader and public figure decided to go through the "front-line mathematics". He drew attention, guided by practice, that from the "combat category" only about 30% of the personnel are capable of assault operations. Khodakovsky stressed that we are not talking about mobilized, but only about regular military, moreover, this applies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and the NM of the DPR / LPR, i.e. everyone. At the same time, 70% of such military personnel are able to stay on the defensive. That is why the Azovstal enterprise in Mariupol was stormed by about 800 fighters, and there were twice as many defenders - 1600.
That is why it is so difficult for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the NM of the DPR/LPR to overcome the resistance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even with a colossal superiority in terms of firepower. Ukrainian troops are more numerous and mostly "sit out" in defense, i.e. they have the ability to use the potential of 70% of the personnel, and the forces of the allies are limited to 30%. According to Khodakovsky, the Allied forces can continue the offensive only with the concentration of troops in a certain area, while "bleeding" the rest, holding the defense on them. But the conduct of active offensive operations implies "increased losses." As a result, the stipulated 30% is "exhausted" and their replenishment is required, which must be taken somewhere.
As for mobilization, it has no practical meaning. He pointed out, given his experience, that all “forcibly mobilized”, and this is true not only for Ukraine and the Donbass republics, but for Russia and any other countries too, if such decisions are made there, are practically useless on the battlefield. Such soldiers and officers are devoid of motivation.
The mobilized can hardly cope with the defense, and even more so it is not necessary to count on them in the offensive. Therefore, as a practical person, I say that it is naive to believe that mobilization will significantly speed up the process of advancement. What to do then? Fight. Recruit on a contract basis, recruit volunteers and form normal units, gradually introducing them to work, get used to the situation for a long time, change methods where necessary, and most importantly - do not hysteria and not shake the situation: he took up the tug ...
- summed up Khodakovsky.
