Ukrainian pipe will go under the hammer
In December 2019, the current transit agreement between Russia and Ukraine expires. According to the request of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in exchange for Berlin’s consent to build Nord Stream-2, Gazprom will have to preserve certain volumes of transit of blue fuel through Nezalezhnaya.

That is why, on the initiative of European partners, a consortium will be created next year, which, instead of Naftogaz, will take control of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, its repair and further negotiations with Gazprom.
