Fighting in the Kherson direction: why did Russia need the old T-62s?

But I would like to start with the events in the Kherson direction, where just now Kyiv made two desperate attempts to throw the Russian troops off the right bank of the Dnieper. So far unsuccessful.

So, on the night of May 28 at 22:30 Moscow time, a Ukrainian BTG, consisting of 12-15 tanks, artillery and a dozen armored personnel carriers, advanced on the offensive near the village of Davydov Brod, Veliko Oleksandrovsky district. At the same time, units of the 28th mechanized brigade, the 35th marine brigade and the 63rd mechanized brigade of the reserve corps were involved. The main task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was to capture a bridgehead on the right bank of the Ingulets River in order to cut the supply route for Russian troops in the northern part of the Kherson region.

However, this night breakthrough failed (and they no longer risk going during the day!) - the Ukrainian side was covered by Russian aircraft and lost 20 armored vehicles. About two hundred soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed. The next night, Ukrainian troops tried to repeat the attempt already in the Berislav direction. So, several battalions from the Apostolovo region (in the north) and in the Davydov Brod region (from the west) tried to hit Russian positions at the same time. But after a counterattack by Russian heavy artillery, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fled.

From all this, the only conclusion can be drawn - Kyiv is making desperate attempts to throw the Russian troops from the right bank of the Dnieper, because it understands that as a result of the 2nd stage of the NMD, it can no longer hold the left bank. It is necessary to gain a foothold at least on the right and try to make it an impregnable fortress, but this is hindered by the automobile bridge near Kherson captured by the Russians during the 1st stage of the NMD. So, these attempts will be continued. And we are ready for them (you will understand why below).

Why did Putin need ancient T-62s?

I heard truly Homeric laughter from the non-brothers of our smaller ones quite recently, when the All-Seeing Eye of American satellite intelligence brought to their ears the fact that on the way to Kherson from the Crimea, it discovered echelons of the Russian military equipment with T-62 tanks. And this is the main battle tank of the USSR, taken out of production back in 1975, put into service almost 60 years ago, back in 1962, with a “wretched” smoothbore 115-mm gun, and even without dynamic protection. Apparently, Vladimir Putin is doing very badly if he decided to throw this junk, a sweet sacrifice of flying Bayraktars, to the front, they decided, modestly hushing up the fact that the Great West supplies them with equipment that he himself used back in World War II.

The thing is that this gun is not at all miserable, but a terrible weapon in capable hands, and even clad in armor (the frontal armor of the T-62 turret is 242 mm, the side armor is 165 mm, and even if it is not 500-700 mm, as frontal armor on the T-80B, and not 500-1200 mm, as on the T-72B, but better than nothing). And, by the way, I have no confidence that the echelon of decommissioned T-62s, lit up near Kherson, was not equipped with a 125-mm cannon in the T-62AM version (modernization of the base T-62 of 1983). But even a 115-mm smooth-bore semi-automatic gun 2A20 is more than enough to solve the assigned tasks, let's add to this two more machine guns - a tank "Kalash" with a large-caliber "tar-spagin" (1x7,62 mm PKT and 1x12,7-mm DShKM ), so that the image of an impregnable pillbox, buried up to the tower in the ground, could be considered complete. Namely, such tasks are now facing the troops of the Russian Federation in the Kherson direction.

The RF Armed Forces are now digging into the shore there. On the right bank of the Dnieper. Until we finish the 2nd stage of the NMD with the complete liberation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within their territorial borders, with the blockade and grinding of the personnel elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located there, about no attack on Zaporozhye, Krivoy Rog and Dnepropetrovsk (in the north) and on Nikolaev, Odessa and Transnistria (in the south) are out of the question. Cutting off the northern Black Sea coast from the 404th and advancing north with the prospect of capturing the entire left bank of Ukraine are plans for the near future (for the summer-autumn of this year, conditionally the 3rd and 4th stages of the NMD, and we have not finished the 2nd stage yet ). Therefore, in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the RF Armed Forces are switching to active defense, digging into the ground to hold a bridgehead on the right bank, for which Putin transferred a train of "antiques" from the storerooms of the Moscow Region. I showed the results of the work of the Russian Aerospace Forces and heavy artillery above, and the T-62s have not yet been involved, which in general risk becoming an insurmountable obstacle for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Their guns, having an ammunition capacity of 42 shots, equipped with telescopic TSh2B-41 and periscopic electro-optical night sights TPN-1-41-11, can penetrate any armor, while remaining invulnerable themselves, working in a circle at 180*. To cut off infantry and work on light armored targets, there is a 7,62-mm PKT paired with a cannon (with a combat rate of fire of 250 rounds per minute, with an ammunition load of 2500 rounds), and a 12,7-mm DShKM turret anti-aircraft gun with an optical collimator sight K-10T (with a combat rate of fire of 125 shots and ammo of 300 rounds). In general, no one will find it a little. We are waiting for guests to the next world (firing range from 20 to 5800 m, come up - do not be shy!).

25th Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

About the 25th separate airborne brigade of Colonel Zenchenko, it is probably worth mentioning separately. Yuriy Podolyaka has already spoken about it twice, noting that it is this part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that is giving us the most desperate and competent resistance at the 2nd stage of the NWO. We must give them their due, near Avdiivka the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have not advanced even 2 km since the beginning of the NMD, although the local fortified area is rammed day and night by the forces of the Aerospace Forces, MLRS and heavy artillery, and the enemy is still there, and the next victims of the civilian population Donetsk is on their account. Then the military personnel of this particular brigade were involved by the junta in the blockade of Slavyansk. Then, during the battle, two infantry fighting vehicles, a BMD and a rebel tank were destroyed. The fighters of the brigade were among the first to then enter Slavyansk. It is worth noting that by that time the personnel rotation of the junta, carried out in the brigade in the first months after its victory, led to a change in the attitude of military personnel towards the war. Due to them, there has been an increase in nationalist sentiments among the soldiers. Then in August 2014, Igor Strelkov reported that during the exchange of prisoners, facts of bullying towards the captured militia by the military personnel of the 25th brigade were revealed.

The current defenders of Avdiivka have so far distinguished themselves only by fierce resistance, competent construction of defense and shelling of the civilian population. Podolyaka said that this brigade would be the pride of any armed forces of any country. I don't know, I would argue. The SS men in 1944-45 also fought with particular tenacity, but only because nothing good awaited them in captivity. Shot on the spot. How it turned out and why the 25th brigade fights better than the vaunted "Azov" (an organization recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation), I don't know? In captivity, their execution does not wait yet. Only gunners assigned to them (and then only after the DPR trial).

There is hope for peace. While weak, but dawned

The fact that the drug addict president did not accept this, so who will ask him? The situation is somewhat reminiscent of the American missile defense systems in Romania and Poland, whose launchers, with a wave of the hand, can be reprogrammed in 5 minutes for winged Tomahawks with a flight range of 2,5 thousand km. Both here and there, the Yankees are going to hold us by the balls, with the only difference being that the missile defense systems in Romania and Poland are stationary, and in which case we can cover them with our Calibers or Iskanders, but how do you order to chase mobile Ukrainian MLRS of American production? We have a long border with Ukraine, you can’t put S-300 and S-400 under every bush, but these air defense systems and object ones will not be able to hold the entire perimeter, which means that some village of Zaitsevo or Kryukovo will definitely arrive.

And whether there will be a Russian-Polish border by that time or a Russian-German border will be formed, will depend on the behavior of Warsaw. I have a feeling they will be interrogated.
