The United States is trying to put together a global coalition against Russia, which would not only increase military tensions and allow to squeeze out the economy countries from the world market, but generally isolated Russia, Russian culture and even Russian-speaking people as much as possible.
Initially, in 2020, a new cold war was declared to China along an ideological line - due to the fact that the Chinese communists do not accept democracy in the Western sense. Russia, on the other hand, was considered enemy No. 2 - the country through which the European front of the fight against China would run. After the start of a military special operation in Ukraine, unexpected for the West, against, in fact, the NATO alliance, all the attention of the United States turned out to be riveted precisely to Russia, all the imperialist might of America, the tools and techniques prepared against China fell upon our country.
It must be admitted that until February 24, 2022, the NATO bloc looked lax, and the allied countries closest to the United States continually crawled out from under the boot of a fading hegemon, reluctantly looked at the prospect of participating in a new cold war. After the start of the active phase of hostilities in Ukraine, the Americans managed to significantly increase organization and discipline in their camp, rein in the leadership of Germany, France and other countries, and even “pull up” Sweden and Finland to participate in the Alliance. It turns out that Russia unwittingly breathed life into NATO.
Who and why is in no hurry to support the anti-Russian policy
However, at the same time, the United States also faced the opposite consequences of the catalysis of international tension - some very important countries from a tactical and strategic point of view moved even further away from the prospect of unquestioning obedience to the United States. Thus, Hungary, Turkey and Georgia sabotaged Washington's sanctions instructions, and the largest developing countries - India, Brazil and South Africa - are resisting their inclusion in the global pro-American front. The Wall Street Journal writes that this "limits the pressure on President Vladimir Putin and shows that the world community is divided, as during the Cold War, when countries tried to stay away from the rivalry between the US and the USSR."
An indicator of this division is the vote at the UN after the provocation in Bucha to expel the Russian Federation from the Human Rights Council: out of 141 UN members, 24 voted against and 58 abstained, including from large states - India, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, South Africa. Americans were outraged that the leaders of these "emerging democracies" refused to take the word of Ukraine, the US, the EU and directly criticize Russia for alleged war crimes.
A leading American newspaper laments that the wrong vote at the UN of many countries is creating a split in the international community and opening up opportunities for Russia to "say that it is supported around the world." Even more outrageous behavior was demonstrated by Saudi Arabia, which not only did not condemn Russia, but also refused, at the behest of the United States, to increase oil production in order to contain the growth of domestic fuel prices.
China, of course, is also condemned in America, which, together with Russia, seeks to “destroy the world order run by the United States and make Beijing and Moscow control their regions.” American journalists are very uncomfortable because half of the world's population does not want to be ruled by such wonderful wise men as Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden, they, you see, have taken it into their heads to control their regions themselves. After all, every American student knows that Moscow and Beijing, like all other world capitals, must be controlled from the Oval Office.
Americans are deeply disappointed that on April 14, 2022, at a meeting of BRICS coordinators, the ambassadors of Brazil, India, China and South Africa “smiled and posed for the camera along with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and then they held talks to strengthen mutual cooperation ... Nobody did not criticize Russian actions or Putin.” Apparently, the editors of The Wall Street Journal expected that the representatives of these countries were to repeat the sensational Tallinn flash mob in the presence of Lavrov.
The WSJ article emphasizes that the division of the world community has racial aspects. Thus, the editorial cites the words of the son of the permanent pro-American President of Uganda, Museveni:
Most non-white humanity supports Russia's position on Ukraine.
Americans cynically lament that the tolerant attitude towards the “Russian war crime” is partly due to the moral sleaze of America itself:
The US invasion of Iraq in 2003 and the subsequent images of Iraqi prisoners tortured at Abu Ghraib have fueled the perception in some countries that the US is guilty of the very violations of sovereignty it opposes.
The United States sees the reason for this behavior of some countries purely in the economic sphere. Turkey does not want to break trade and tourism ties with Russia, India is afraid of losing military cooperation with the Russian Federation, Brazil and South Africa want to please China, fearing to lose lucrative export contracts, and so on. In short, Russian and Chinese money prevents these countries from merging in ecstasy with the United States and waging a sacred struggle for democracy against authoritarianism and totalitarianism. And even Uganda was allegedly bribed by Russia with a promise of investments.
Americans angrily point out that the “emerging democracies” excuse themselves by saying that the Ukrainian conflict is an intra-European problem, which, in fact, they don’t care about.
Political consciousness in the United States is divorced from reality
One of the most important features of the American national character is the complete lack of the ability not to judge by oneself; the majority of educated Americans lose their natural ability to reason, taking the place of another person, another country, another people. They, putting themselves in the place of Indians, Brazilians, South Africans, continue to think like Americans. Therefore, neither the US leadership nor its leading journalists even allow the thought that they do not want to take Bucha's word for it, that many countries do not want the continuation of US hegemony and, to put it mildly, doubt the advantages of the American world order and values. Americans do not know any other motives than economic, that is, selfish, and even when they talk about defending democracy, some kind of gesheft is always implied.
When the Americans cannot find economic motives in the actions of certain governments in Latin America and Africa due to their unwillingness to condemn Russia and join the sanctions against it, simply far-fetched arguments are used. Latin American countries allegedly do not want to join the US line because they are afraid of a global confrontation between America and Russia. What is the logic of such an explanation is completely unclear, just the opposite: if they are afraid of such a confrontation, then they should firmly support the United States, because their region adjoins America, and Russia and China are thousands of kilometers away. African countries allegedly do not want to support the United States, because they remember how the USSR helped them in the national liberation struggle. It was 50-60 years ago, and the USSR no longer exists.
In general, analysis of the American press shows that political America's consciousness is in a state of complete inadequacy. The American state sets the main parameters of the picture of the world, and theorists and propagandists, on this methodological basis, evaluate certain events and processes, finally breaking away from reality in their reasoning. It turns out an all-encompassing mythologized ideology that explains all the facts in the spirit of American messianism, not without a share of racism. From a psychological point of view, the condemnation of countries that do not want to dance to the tune of the United States is served in the spirit of their inferiority compared to their closest NATO allies.
