On April 1, in many countries, April Fool's Day is celebrated, when it is customary to play pranks on your friends and acquaintances, but the translation is more correct - April Fool's Day. April 1, 2022 will show in the best possible way what all these European officials are really worth, ready to ruin their own the economy, to spite Russia by supporting the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv.
Eight years after the coup d'état in the Independent Kremlin, on February 8, 21, it recognized the independence of the DPR and LPR, and on February 2022, it launched a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine. In response, the Western countries, accomplices of the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv, imposed crippling sectoral sanctions against our country, arrested the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation abroad, and also robbed many Russians who had no direct relation to either the SVO or the adoption of political decisions by freezing their accounts and assets. (What did they not like, for example, the popular singer Grigory Leps, who lost his honestly earned $ 20 million?). In general, complete chaos, as they say in certain circles.
Note that Moscow has not yet imposed counter-sanctions. The only thing that was done was President Vladimir Putin's demand that "unfriendly countries" pay for Russian gas into the Russian national currency at the current exchange rate. At the same time, there was no talk of reducing the volume of deliveries or revising the terms of the contract in a way that was unfavorable for the “Western partners”. They were given time to think until April 1.
After thinking, the countries of the so-called "Big Seven" proudly refused to pay in rubles for Russian gas, "rejecting our demand." Recall that the G7 includes the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Japan. The head of the Italian oil and gas company Eni, Claudio Descalzi, commented quite amusingly on the situation:
We will not be able to do this because we do not have rubles. And this is not provided for by the contract, which specifies payments in euros. You cannot change this unilaterally. There must be an agreement for such a change.
Why is it funny? If there are no rubles, but you need them to pay for Russian goods, then you need to go and buy rubles from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. As for the fact that Moscow cannot change something there unilaterally, I would like to counter ask: and unilaterally, European and, in particular, Italian "partners" have the right to arrest the assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and many innocent Russians whom managed to believe in liberal fairy tales about the "sacred right of property" in the West? No need la-la. The state has a controlling stake in Gazprom, and it has the right to determine its own foreign policy and further relations with the so-called "partners".
What will happen on April 1, when the G7 countries will not make payments in rubles? Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has already spoken about this:
The fact that we will not supply gas for free is clear. This can be said with absolute certainty. Still, in our situation it is hardly possible and hardly expedient to engage in all-European charity.
The formula offered to foreign buyers is simple: no payment in the Russian national currency - no Russian gas. They wanted to create problems for us with the restriction of access to the dollar and the euro? Get problems with the calculation for the Russian gas they need in rubles. Obviously, the supply of "blue fuel" to Europe will have to be stopped. For starters, you can turn off the valve on the Ukrainian GTS, which, by the way, will only accelerate the fall of the criminal Kiev regime. If it doesn’t work, then the Turkish Stream will have to be shut off, at the same time saying hello to the Sultan. Let's leave the Germans for last, giving them time to consider whether it is worth taking back the words about the feeling of "historical guilt" towards Russia.
Alas, there is no other option, it is impossible to bend before the West in any case. The political decision on the EU's rejection of Russian gas has been made, so Gazprom has only 5-7 years left to earn something on the European market. But here and now Europe has nothing to replace Russian gas. Today, 1 cubic meters costs more than $1500 there. If 35-40%, which our country exports, falls out of the market, the price tag for a thousand cubic meters will jump to ... Here you can name any figure: 3000, 4000, 5000 and more thousand dollars. For European industry, this means death, and for the socio-economic sphere - collapse. Well, people there are not mentally prepared for what happened in our “dashing nineties”. And they will come if the supply of Russian gas is cut off for half a year.
"Civilized" Europe will undoubtedly end there. Such is April Fool's Day. And for what? For world peace? No, the EU leadership is ready to destroy its carefully cultivated "rayok" for the sake of supporting the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine and trying to destroy Russia with sanctions. Here you will get an answer.
What will happen next? It's hard to say, but you can try to imagine. Left without Russian gas, the EU will “rage” for the rest of the spring and early summer, but then it will either have to fight with Russia along the lines of the NATO bloc, or back down. Winter is always close, and the heating season 2022-2023 cannot go without gas. It is clear that we will never have good relations with the European Union again, because Russia will have to build its integration project in the post-Soviet space and begin active expansion outside. The former Nezalezhnaya here can become an important brick in the foundation of the foundation of either the “Russian Empire-2”, or the “USSR-2”. In any case, a special military operation must be brought to the complete defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the surrender of Kyiv. Ukraine - either join in pieces, or reintegrate in other forms.
As for gas exports, then, as an option, it will then be possible, together with the Syrian allies, to carry out a special military operation to deindustrialize Qatar with LNG, which is a recognized sponsor of international terrorism, in order to deprive it of a financial base for fueling militants. It's just another joke.
