Russia's isolation from the West is natural and useful
Modern Russia arose as an anti-Soviet state, the first task of which was the elimination of communism in all its manifestations and the construction of a market economy. economics with Western-style democracy. The era of primitive accumulation of capital and the initial formation of a new political model in the 1990s, as expected, was overshadowed by the deepest socio-economic crisis, in fact, the catastrophe of the former Soviet society.
The foremen and architects of the restructuring of Soviet socialism into Russian capitalism proceeded from their own invented postulates about the relationship between revolution and counter-revolution. They considered that since the Bolsheviks were relatively easy to implement the “communist experiment on the people”, therefore, they would be able to “return Russia to the main road of civilization” through reforms and breaking the Soviet economy, politics, culture and norms of the hostel. The latter was understood, of course, from the content of American anti-Soviet manuals, Western economic and political thought in general. It was assumed that Russia, which before that did not know classical, normal capitalism, would become a wide field for experiments in the implementation of neoliberal theory. They were not embarrassed not only by the fact that the programs of such reforms essentially failed in a number of Latin American and Asian countries, where the socio-political model quickly slid into the dictatorships of the juntas, but also by the catastrophic results of the very first years of the new Russian government. It was explained to the Russians that the hard times of the seven bankers had to be endured and the long-awaited period of “correct capitalism” would come.
After coming to power V.V. Putin in the XXI century, the Russian economy, remaining oligarchic in its type, began to revive, the political model stabilized, the state quickly strengthened. Some liberals began to feel that their experiments had worked, Russia was becoming a "normal, civilized country." However, their joy did not last long, along with the stabilization of the economy, the "harmful" tendencies of Keynesianism began to appear. In Russia, a model of state capitalism with an indefatigable craving for strengthening sovereignty was quickly established, which was not part of the plans of Western liberals and their overseas patrons. A new round of struggle for the “future of Russia” began, now not with communism, but with the wrong “Chekist authorities”. Moreover, in terms of the intensity of hysteria, perhaps even surpassing the standards of the old anti-Soviet.
And if the internal struggle of this agency of the West did not receive the necessary development due to the sharp wiserness of our people (it's no joke, to enter the same river twice in a row), then from the outside pressure on the Russian Federation every year acquired the features of the good old Cold War . As a result, Russian state capitalism, for the first time in its short history, entered into a decisive battle for the right to its existence, when the Russian Federation announced a military operation in Ukraine, the essential and historical goal of which is to rebuff the United States and NATO countries at its borders.
Military operation in Ukraine as the first serious act of the new cold war
Despite the fact that the leaders of Western countries actively provoked the Russian Federation to intervene in the civil war in Ukraine, they launched a large-scale information campaign about the "Russian threat", but they did not seriously expect such a scenario. Offensiveness and initiative for the first time passed to Russia. And this was immediately reflected in the reaction of the US and the EU. Having seen the maneuvers and battles of Russian tanks, Western politicians began to show notes of conciliation in their rhetoric. The State Department is pouring out statements about military non-intervention and de-escalation, Johnson has recognized Russia as a great and world power, EU leaders argue that Europe's energy dependence on Russia is critical.
What did the West do in response to the military operation of the Russian Federation? First, another round of senseless sanctions. Secondly, he temporarily withdrew his "brands" from the country. Thirdly, it bombards the Armed Forces of Ukraine with anti-tank systems. This is an extremely sluggish reaction, most of whose activities put Europe, first of all, in a very difficult position. Russia's natural resources are vital to Europe, as are agricultural products from Ukraine. An attempt by the West to Afghanistanize the conflict leads to a monstrous flow of Ukrainian migrants. None of the countries of the so-called collective West called on Zelensky to prudently lay down his arms, because military resistance only multiplies the victims on all sides and deepens the humanitarian catastrophe of Ukraine.
But here, in terms of the topic of the article, something else is important. The United States is trying to financially and economically isolate Russia, to cut off the Russian economy from the world market, which they still largely control. The US leadership thinks that this will lead to the collapse of Russia. This is a profound delusion, on the contrary, all these measures are pushing the Russian government to further strengthen the role of the state in the economy and society, to the final transition from the principles of liberalism to the principles of state capitalism. By paralyzing the Russian economy tied to the world market, the US is forcing the Russian state to seize commanding heights in the economy in order to stabilize the economic situation.
The Americans are sure that by withdrawing Western goods and services from Russia and thus destroying their usual way of life, they are raising a wave of philistine discontent. But in reality, the opposite is true. Russians perceive the break with the West as a release from its pernicious influence. The United States is convinced that the Russians are so stupid that they themselves are not able to provide themselves with the necessary benefits. Whereas in reality the tight integration of our economy and way of life into a westernized world market and a “Eurocentric world community” shackles our potential and irritates the population.
The Americans are frightening the Russians with a return to the "scoop", and the Russians are unhappy that the rate of this return is too low.
In addition, the leadership of the Russian Federation is clearly counting on a powerful economic and technological rear in the face of powerful China. The first major showdown in the new US-China Cold War is between Russia and NATO in Ukraine. The alignment of forces is rapidly changing precisely because of the military operation of the Russian Federation and subsequent isolation from the West. The world market is inevitably splitting into two parts - the western one led by the United States and the eastern one led by China - and our country is in the forefront in this matter.
History, in its objective course, gives us a chance to regroup our resources, reorganize our economy, shift the focus from market chaos to rational state planning and regulation. Now more than ever, mobilization measures, de-oligarchization of the economy and forced industrialization of the country are needed.
The first events in the new political reality — the “nationalization of brands”, the payment of foreign debts in rubles, the announcement of a course towards import substitution as the basis of the new economy — give hope that the Russian authorities adequately assess the situation.
Dewesternization in the spiritual realm
The economic and trade break with the West will lead not only to an increase in production in Russia, but also to a change in the way of life and way of thinking of the population. Western goods and services brought to our country a decaying culture and moral degradation inherent in the Western model of capitalism. Now we will gradually get rid of it. In this case, one cannot overestimate the defeat of the pro-Western liberal resources and organizations that poisoned the consciousness of our society for decades.
Now it is important to create the right atmosphere of self-reliance, to educate young people above all in the spirit of the new era and not to slide into wooden jingoistic patriotism, chauvinism and subservience. At the center of public life should be the task of serving the people, cultivating those sprouts of the "welfare state" that have emerged in recent years. Gross inequality and poverty can no longer be tolerated. Objective circumstances push the state to rely on the broad masses of the people.
Thus, the historical period of planting liberal capitalism in Russia, tied to the world market led by the United States, is being closed by the objective course of the global political struggle. It is possible to turn the wheel of history in the opposite direction, but not for long.
