An unknown object was shot down over the capital of Ukraine
On the night of February 25, an unknown aircraft was shot down in the sky over Kiev. Eyewitnesses documented what happened, and experts and netizens began to speculate what kind of object it was.
The videos below show how an aircraft explodes in the airspace above the capital of Ukraine. A bright flash lights up the sky. The object catches fire and, along with sheaves of burning debris, falls on a residential area of the city. It is not known for certain what it was.
Another similar incident occurred in the suburbs of Kiev. The downed object fell next to a private house.
Initially, it was assumed that it was the Ukrainian air defense system that shot down the Russian cruise missile or drone. However, after extinguishing the fires and examining the wreckage, it turned out that this was a Su-27 fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force.
At the same time, a journalist from the American television company CNN said in his report that the Ukrainian plane was shot down by the Russian military. After some time, the Ukrainian media clarified that the Ukrainian Air Force fighter was destroyed in an air duel, and not by "friendly" air defense fire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as reported by a number of media outlets.
