Russian military build pontoon bridges 6 km from the border with Ukraine

During the Russian-Belarusian exercises "Allied Resolve-2022", the troops built a pontoon bridge on the territory of the Chernobyl zone. The corresponding satellite images may give some Western experts reason to once again talk about the imminent "invasion" of Russian units on the territory of Ukraine.

The pontoon bridge was built 6 km from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border on the Pripyat River. The actions of the Russian military to overcome water obstacles are taking place as part of the active phase of maneuvers that have begun, which will end on February 20.

On Tuesday, February 15, the official representative of the Russian military department, Major General Igor Konashenkov, noted that military attachés and media representatives from other countries were invited to observe the final stage of the joint exercises of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

Many in the West see the current Russian-Belarusian maneuvers as a harbinger of imminent Russian “aggression” on Ukraine. Meanwhile, earlier the Ministry of Defense pointed to the return of the Russian military to their places of permanent deployment after the end of the exercises. Vladimir Putin spoke about this during his recent conversation with Emmanuel Macron. And, according to the Ministry of War, the departure of military personnel and equipment from the borders with Ukraine has already begun. However, as the President stated, it will not be complete, but partial.
