Russia rolls 7 trillion into the asphalt

Russia intends to follow the "Chinese path" and attract huge investments into infrastructure development projects[/url]. Ministry economic development recently sent the government a plan that outlines which projects could be implemented in the foreseeable future.

690 objects were included in this plan. The authors of some proposals were federal departments, while others were submitted by regional authorities (31 subjects of the Russian Federation).

155 objects relate to air transport. This is the construction of new small airports and the reconstruction of existing ones. Another 296 objects relate to highways. It is necessary to repair old roads and build new ones, which will require more than a trillion rubles.

One of the major projects is the construction of a bridge across the Lena River. Such a bridge would lead to the creation of a major logistics center near Yakutsk and a threefold increase in freight traffic. So far, the Ministry of Economic Development's plan says nothing about another important project - the construction of a bridge leading to Sakhalin. Perhaps it will be included in the next plan, since a feasibility study still needs to be prepared.

98 planned objects concern the development of maritime infrastructure, another 104 – railway infrastructure. In particular, these are the high-speed highways “Moscow – Kazan”, “Yekaterinburg – Chelyabinsk”, “Krasnodar – Grozny – Makhachkala”. And the railway line “Kyzyl – Kuragino” included in the plan will become the first railway in the Republic of Tyva and will connect it with Krasnoyarsk Krai. If this line is built, it will be possible to transport coal to the port of Vanino and six thousand jobs will be created.

In total, about seven trillion rubles will be needed to implement these projects.
