The former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine named the reasons for the failure of the operation on the "Wagner group"

On November 19, Colonel-General Vasily Burba, ex-head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, was supposed to speak at the studio on the "Freedom of Savik Shuster" talk show on the "Ukraine" TV channel. But for the duration of the broadcast, he was "unexpectedly" summoned for interrogation by the SBU. However, he arrived at the studio before the broadcast and answered all the questions of the presenter. Therefore, his performance was shown on the tape.
Burba told how the special operation to lure and capture the so-called "Wagner group" was prepared and failed. In particular, he named several reasons that led to a negative result for Kiev and told about the persons who were present at the meetings with the head of state when the reports on the progress of the special operation were carried out.
Reports to the President were carried out by the SBU, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the intelligence of the State Border Service every three days, if there was no urgency. Zelensky himself determined the circle of persons from the mentioned services who participated in the reports.

On July 23, 2020, a report on the final stage of the special operation was supposed to take place, but Burba and the first deputy head of the SBU Ruslan Baranetsky could not get to the supreme commander-in-chief. Therefore, they talked with the head of the presidential office, Andrei Yermak, who was delegated by the head of state.
I received an order to postpone the final stage. I didn’t just receive an instruction, it was an answer that this was an instruction from the President.

The former head of the GUR added that there were no written orders on this matter from Zelensky. Yermak was aware of the progress of the special operation and spoke on behalf of the president. According to Burba, the special operation could not be postponed. But he could not do anything and the transfer became one of the factors that influenced the result. According to him, there are only three reasons for the failure of the special operation.
The first is the "mole" who works for Russia; the second is our poor preparation; the third is the good work of the counterintelligence service of Belarus. From my own experience, I can say that this is a failure, thanks to the people who are in the offices of power and leak information to the enemy

Note that on November 3, Zelensky fired the head of the Intelligence Directorate of the State Border Service, Vyacheslav Demcheno. At the same time, it is not known whether he will appear on the next air of the talk show "Svoboda Savik Shuster". However, given the outbreak of open hostility between Zelensky and Akhmetov, this cannot be ruled out.
