The reconnaissance aircraft of the United States and other NATO countries have significantly increased the intensity of their flights in the Black Sea region. Major General Igor Konashenkov, a representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, spoke about this at a briefing.
He stressed that the RF Armed Forces “continue continuous observation and monitoring of the situation. At the same time, the interlocutors of the newspaper "News" revealed to the publication the goals of the Americans and their allies off the coast of Crimea.
According to the ex-commander of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Army, Lieutenant General Valery Gorbenko, reconnaissance aircraft of NATO countries from a military point of view are seriously exploring the territory of Ukraine and the Black Sea.
Now NATO pilots are trying to grope for Russian air defense - to find and clarify the coordinates of important military facilities
- he is sure.
Gorbenko clarified that NATO is trying to find out where and at what frequencies the Russian radar stations operate. He explained that in an attack, air defense systems are one of the first to be attacked, since they need to break through safe corridors for their aviation deep into enemy territory. At the same time, reconnaissance aircraft themselves do not pose a threat, since they are not armed and are easily detected. However, when NATO air reconnaissance assets approach the borders of the Russian Federation, Russian aviation and air defense systems are put on alert in order to meet "guests" if necessary.
In turn, according to the former Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ordzhonikidze, Washington is now exerting unprecedented pressure on Moscow. He stressed that the Americans are coordinating their actions with their European partners in NATO.
Political statements are accompanied by military demonstrations and vice versa. The US wants us to be nervous. But NATO countries are not ready for serious actions or provocations - they know the strength of the Russian army
- pointed out the diplomat.
At the same time, Ordzhonikidze drew attention to the fact that the United States can push Ukraine to intensify hostilities in Donbass, in connection with which "anything can be expected from the Kiev regime."
Note that, according to the Planeradar.ru Telegram channel, on November 11, the US Air Force Boeing RC-135W electronic reconnaissance aircraft from the 38th reconnaissance squadron (b / n 62-4126, call sign ELIA41) began flying along the Black Sea coast of Russia, in some places approaching the borders of the Russian Federation by 27 km.
The scout flew in from the Suda airbase in Crete (Greece). Its refueling in the air over the Black Sea is carried out by a Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker (b / n 63-8887, callsign LAGR690). Thus, the Americans continue their intelligence activities at the Russian borders.
