Last week, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko signed a plan to integrate Russia and Belarus into the Union State. The Belarusian president, who is in Sevastopol, signed an integration decree, which included 28 union programs with the Russian Federation.
According to experts of the German newspaper Die Tageszeitung, Belarus has thus become one step closer to disappearing from the world map. However, the Belarusian "dictator" had no choice but to sign this plan. After the presidential elections in August last year, when numerous people who disagreed with the victory of Alexander Lukashenko took to the streets of the country's cities, the firmness of the regime was significantly shaken, and the authorities in the Republic of Belarus seriously tightened the screws.
These and other events became the reason for Minsk's serious rupture with Western countries and sanctions against Belarusian companies, as well as personally Lukashenka and his people. Belarus found itself in international isolation, and Russia remained the only friend and ally of the Republic of Belarus. This is evidenced by the factual recognition by the Belarusian president of the Russian ownership of Crimea - earlier in such issues, Alexander Grigorievich adhered to a more restrained position. Now the “Crimean scenario” can be applied to Belarus itself.
For us, signing a 28-point roadmap is tantamount to annexation. Vladimir Putin is shamelessly implementing the Crimea 2.0 scenario. The next step is a referendum to be held in February 2022
- said the Belarusian human rights activist Olga Karach (quoted by Tageszeitung).
