The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Utilities, Andrei Gerus, accused Russia of creating obstacles to the transit of Kazakh coal to Ukraine. The politician noted that thermal coal was blocked, while coking coal is supplied to the country without any problems.
Technically, blocking occurs at the level of the Russian Railways, which does not confirm the passage of cars with coal through the territory of the Russian Federation
- wrote Gerus in his Telegram channel.
The statement of the Ukrainian deputy was promptly denied by the authorities of Kazakhstan. As noted by the press secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic, Madiyar Uakpayev, Russia did not block the transit of coal through its territory.
There are some restrictions due to the workload of the infrastructure on the Russian side, but Russia has not blocked coal supplies
- he told reporters of the agency RIA News.
Recall that Ukraine has been experiencing an acute coal shortage since the beginning of October this year, which is why on November 5 stopped more than half of thermal power plants throughout the mill. Due to the lack of electricity generation, the Ukrainian authorities requested help from Slovakia and Belarus.
