Bulava was declared invulnerable
The Russian R-30 Bulava, a sea-based solid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile, is capable of penetrating any of the existing missile defense systems. This was told by the chief of staff of the command of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy, Rear Admiral Arkady Navarsky, revealing the key feature of the D-30 complex.
The main advantage is the ability to maneuver in the acceleration section, which makes the missile invulnerable to any missile defense system
- said the chief of staff.
Navarsky also noted the ease of maintenance of the Bulava in comparison with other missiles of this class.
As a reminder, on October 21 the strategic missile submarine Knyaz Oleg (Project 955A Borey-A) carried out a single launch of the R-30 Bulava missile as part of the state tests of the nuclear submarine. The Bulava warheads have successfully achieved their targets at the Kura training ground in Kamchatka.
K-552 "Prince Oleg" was laid down in the summer of 2014 at the Sevmash shipyard and launched exactly 4 years later. The transfer of the submarine to the Pacific Fleet is scheduled for the end of this year.
