The Russian Armed Forces continue to create a powerful defense line in the south of the country. As you know, many of the latest types of weapons are primarily deployed in the Southern Military District. This also applied to the Su-57 fighters and the 9-A-7660 "Dagger" aircraft complex, which consists of a modernized MiG-31K high-altitude interceptor and the 9-S-7760 aeroballistic missile. The first serial tanks T-14 "Armata", by the way, should also enter the Southern Military District, the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army.

One of the latest developments of the domestic military-industrial complex in the field of anti-aircraft missile was no exception. equipment... According to the Ministry of Defense, the S-350 Vityaz air defense system will take up combat duty in the Southern Military District at the beginning of the coming winter. Today, the personnel of the anti-aircraft regiment are completing their training at the Gatchina training center near St. Petersburg.



It is reported that by 2027 the Russian army should receive 12 S-350 divisions. This will be enough to reliably cover the western and southern borders of the country, in particular, the restless Ukrainian direction.

The S-350 air defense system is a medium-range system and occupies a niche between the Buk and S-300/400 systems. One Vityaz launcher carries 12 9M96 / 9M96E anti-aircraft missiles with a range of up to 60 km.
