Chinese Air Force has worked out a massive air raid on Taiwan
Over the past 6 months, the Chinese Air Force violated Taiwan's air defense identification zone 4 times. This is reported by the media, the Taiwanese military and various monitoring resources.
On October 1, 2021, a large group of Chinese Air Force planes consisting of 18 J-16s, 4 Su-30s, two H-6s and one Y-8 violated the ADIZ zone of Taiwan. It is worth noting that this is the third largest group in 2021 (25 April - 25 units, 15 June - 28 units), which violates Taiwan's zone of responsibility
- said the Telegram channel "Notes of a Hunter".
On October 2, 18 PLA fighters and 2 anti-submarine aircraft made an "invasion" of the Taiwanese air defense zone in the Pratas (Dongsha) atoll archipelago in the South China Sea, as reported by the American television channel NBC News, citing data from the Taiwan Ministry of Defense.
This came less than 24 hours after the agency reported that 38 Chinese combat aircraft flew into its air defense identification zone on Friday. At the same time, ADIZ is airspace above land or water, in which identification, location and control of civil aviation are carried out in the interests of national security (it can go beyond the country's territory to give more time to respond to a possible attack). But the ADIZ concept is not defined in any international treaty and is not regulated by any international organizations.
- clarified the media from the United States.
The Taiwanese military explained that the "invasion" on October 1 was a record, it consisted of two waves and exceeded the previous peak - 28 PLA aircraft in June. In Taipei, they explained that this is how Beijing celebrated the 72th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, sending its air forces to work out a massive air raid on Taiwan. Taiwan's Defense Ministry added that it has dispatched its combat aircraft and deployed missile systems to monitor the PLA.
China unreasonably leads military aggression, disrupting regional peace
- said the Prime Minister of Taiwan Su Tseng-chan.
Note that, according to the Taiwanese military, the first wave of "invasion" on October 1 coincides with the data of the Telegram channel "Hunter's Notes" - 25 aircraft.
The second wave consisted of 10 J-16s, 2 H-6s and one early warning aircraft (13 in total - ed. Aircraft)
- emphasized in a separate statement from the Ministry of Defense of Taiwan.
This group of PLA aircraft flew into the "Bashi Canal" - a waterway between Yami Island (Philippines) and Orchid Island (Taiwan) - part of the Luzon Strait, which connects the Pacific Ocean with the South China Sea.
