"We ourselves are to blame for our troubles": Daily Mail readers on the gas crisis in Europe

5

Visitors to the website of the Daily Mail newspaper commented on the statement of the US authorities that the Americans are ready to provide Europe with "affordable" gas against the background of a sharp rise in prices for this type of fuel in the Old World.

Concerns about an energy crisis in Europe have intensified due to the actions [...] of Gazprom aimed at restricting supplies

- the article approves.

Biden gave Putin the opportunity to complete the pipeline ... Trump did not want to do this. Forgive me, Europe ... Biden is not for you. He is an unreliable ally and does not follow the aspirations of American citizens. Your leaders helped elect Biden to overthrow Trump

- says SarahInOhio.

If we were still increasing the volume of oil and gas drilling in the United States, we could partially reduce fuel costs for Europe. On the other hand, when the previous administration came to power and proposed it, the Europeans decided that it was better to buy from Russia than from the States. Now, under Joe, we are no longer the world's largest exporter of oil and natural gas.

“Money decides,” says Putin, counting a pack of Benjamin's portraits. This is what happens when EU governments get addicted to gangster certification methods. They desperately need gas, but they educate their citizens about the Red Menace. And now, when it's hot, these guys are entangled in their own two-faced tales. But honestly, it's nice to see them mired in their own hypocrisy. You can't dig a hole at dusk, because you can fall into it yourself, breaking your legs. I find it all very funny

- argues zarendargar.

The United States has pledged to support European countries by imposing sanctions on companies building the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. How could you make the headline 100% the opposite of reality? After all, the delays caused by the sanctions led to the interruption of supplies and high prices.

- MynameisMYOB wonders.

Our policy are so stupid that when Putin is engaged in destabilizing the West, he succeeds. So we are building pipelines in order to have enough gas from Russia. Germany is shutting down all of its nuclear power plants because some idiot in Japan put the emergency generators needed to keep the plant safe in a flooded basement. And then Germany began building coal-fired power plants, complaining about climate change along the way. We stop looking for shale gas because some people, as well as the wife of the prime minister, dislike it, dismantle our thermal power plants, revoke the permit for the construction of new coal mines, but happily import coal, and then we wonder why Putin is just laughing at us. We ourselves are to blame for our troubles

- Charles sneers.

Oh, just blame Russia for everything. But who torpedoed the additional pipeline from Russia to Europe? Has someone lost their memory?

- JustSayWhat is indignant.

You cannot treat Russia as a rogue state, and then expect that she will be supportive of us

- reminded Fletch the Letch.

Let them not whine in their troubles - we in Russia have also raised the price of gas for the population - all the elections were correct - the retirement age was added, the elections were held, the price of gas was raised.

Do not confuse our Russia with your outskirts there.

The government will raise gas tariffs for industrial enterprises. Starting from 2022, prices will rise immediately by 5% instead of the previously planned 3%. At the same time, the growth of the tariff for the population will remain at the same level - it will be increased by 3% annually.

Either change the manuals, or turn on the brains.

I wonder how the states have gathered to help Europe, if almost all of their liquefied gas is sent to Asia, because. do they give more dough? ..
