In the course of the recent Zapad-2021 SSA, the servicemen of Russia and Belarus have worked out many different scenarios. At some stages, they were simultaneously observed by accredited military-diplomatic officers from 18 countries, of which 7 were members of the NATO bloc, representatives of the CSTO, SCO, CIS and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Therefore, any claims that Moscow violated the Vienna Treaty are unfounded.

Experts noted that the offensive operations of the Russians and Belarusians were always accompanied by powerful strikes from cannon and rocket artillery, and the movement of armored vehicles on the battlefield was supported by planes and helicopters of the army and operational-tactical aviation. This indicates that no one sent naked armored vehicles under the fire of a conditional enemy.

Also, observers noticed the combined use of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles (BMP) and airborne combat vehicles (BMD) in one of the offensive operations. For example, the T80U and T-80BVM gas turbine tanks of the Ground Forces units were in the same offensive formation with the BMD-4M Airborne Forces, covering them with their armor and increasing firepower.

The expediency of such a joint application development is obvious. Despite the fact that the paratroopers have their own T-72B3s, you never know where they will have to fight. It is possible to drop paratroopers in the BMD-4M from military transport aircraft to any suitable place in the rear of the enemy or next to the advancing order of the ground forces.

But for the transfer of their airborne tanks, airfields are required, since MBT are not airborne. You can carry them, but you cannot drop them from parachutes. Airworthiness is determined by the weight that an open ramp of a military transport aircraft can withstand. Therefore, the paratroopers, who will not always have a captured enemy airfield at hand, will definitely come in handy with the coherence of actions together with ground units.

Moreover, it is desirable to conduct such exercises more often. We remind you that during the above-mentioned SSA "West-2021" there was also conducted night landing of soldiers and equipment Airborne.

I also immediately noticed (and, to be honest, I was very surprised ) at such a very "unconventional" formation of battle formations, when I looked at another resource from the exercises "West-2021".
Apparently, it is assumed that a super-powerful missile and artillery raid and continuous air impact on the front edge (and closest rear) of enemy positions by unrealistic ~ 90% will suppress its anti-tank capabilities and will not allow quickly knocking out all lightly armored infantry fighting vehicles and BMDs with infantry advancing in the same battle line with tanks ??!
