Polish press: Migrants have already found a way to break through from Belarus to Poland and are now hiding in our forests
The situation on the Polish-Belarusian border remains tense. Despite the declared state of emergency and numerous military patrols, migrants have already found a way to overcome the "Blaschak fence" and break through from Belarus to Poland, and some even managed to get to Germany, according to the Polish edition Wiadomosci.wp.
Residents of the town of Krynka (Podlaskie Voivodeship, Sokul County) informed that migrants literally cut their way through the barbed wire fences installed by the Border Guard Service and the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, and now large groups of illegal immigrants are hiding in the surrounding forests.
They cut the barbed wire. On Thursday morning, such a crossing was discovered not far from Lapiche, and it was clear from the tracks that about a dozen people had passed through it. They were kindling a fire in my neighbor's territory. The Border Guard Service was unable to find them. The hearth and backpacks were found. These people hid in the forest
- said the resident.
Another interlocutor clarified that the migrants have changed their tactics and are now trying not to appear on the roads, since the police and military immediately after the arrest send them to the border with Belarus.
Just a few weeks ago, migrants could cross the border without hindrance. Couriers picked them up right at the border and took them to the interior of the country. I heard that taxi drivers from Bialystok charged $ 1000 for this. We need to put up a fence much better than it is now.
- he added.
The border service confirmed that "the fortifications on the border are being reduced." However, the press secretary of the Podlaska Border Administration, Major Katarzyna Zdanovich, could not name the exact extent of this phenomenon. It is known that on September 16, 238 attempts to illegally cross the border were identified, and three illegal immigrants from Congo were detained. In addition, seven people were detained who helped illegally cross the border, three of them were Poles.
The state of emergency imposed by the government makes it impossible for journalists to work along the entire length of the Polish-Belarusian border. Therefore, the publication cannot provide its readers with more accurate information about the events or show photographs of the cut off "Blaszczak fence" (Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak). The publication, together with other editorial offices, published a statement that such actions by the authorities contradict the principle of freedom of speech and mean depriving the public of the right to information.
