The Tbilisi Aviation Plant "Tbilaviamsheni" is engaged in the modernization of aircraft and helicopters. The enterprise was founded in September 1941 on the basis of the Aircraft Building Plant No. 31, evacuated from Taganrog. In Soviet times, the plant was engaged in the production of MiG-15 and MiG-17, MiG-21 fighters, as well as Su-25 attack aircraft. The company built about 900 of the latter.
