The first UAV-convertiplane was created in Russia

It is believed that with the help of UAVs it will be possible to deliver mail in remote areas and small loads to customers of online stores. Unfortunately, extremists from the ISIS organization banned in Russia, who adapted UAVs for bombing opponents in Iraq and Syria, also saw the advantages of drones. The Russian Ministry of Defense decided to keep up with the global trend and ordered the development of a unique UAV to Kazan National Research Technical University. What makes it unique is its special design - the convertiplane, i.e. a hybrid that takes off like a helicopter and flies like a plane. The developers report the characteristics of the domestic drone:
The UAV carrying capacity is still 1 kilogram. It is assumed that an aircraft with unique characteristics can be used not only for the needs of the Ministry of Defense, but also for civilian purposes. Cameras or thermal imagers can be installed on the tiltrotor, and it will find application in oil and gas production, agriculture, road construction, communications and energy.
