The created "second NATO" paints a new picture of the world

3

On September 16, President of the United States Joseph Biden, together with British Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, announced the signing of a new trilateral security partnership agreement.

Our countries will renew and strengthen our common ability to confront the threats of the XNUMXst century, just as we did in the XNUMXth century: together

- emphasized Biden, speaking at the meeting held via video link.

As the Australian Prime Minister stressed during the presentation, "the world is becoming more complex" and in order "to help provide the security and stability that our region needs, we must now take our partnership to a new level."

Replacing NATO?

One of the first questions that inevitably arise after News on the creation of a new military bloc under the de facto leadership of the United States - whether it will replace NATO. Given the weakening positions of the North Atlantic Alliance in Europe, it would be reasonable for the United States to start creating a new military bloc for the future, i.e. now. The simplest option in this case would be to rely on the natural allies of the United States - other Anglo-Saxon countries. In principle, this is exactly how it happens.

In addition, it is important to note the fact that instead of expanding NATO, simply to include Australia in it (after all, America and Britain are already part of it), the United States chose the path of creating a new military bloc. In fact, this clearly demonstrates that the Pentagon is gradually beginning to regard NATO as an obsolete organization. Nothing personal, pure Realpolitik.

It is obvious that the Americans are now creating not just a structure partially duplicating NATO, with an amendment to the new region. It is likely that this is more of a springboard for the smooth transfer of the most loyal European allies of the United States (Norway, Poland, the Baltic countries) from the crumbling Alliance to a new military bloc. Simply put, the reserve for maintaining at least some American influence in Europe.

"Five eyes" strengthened, but turned into three

Studying the composition of the new alliance, another curious aspect catches the eye: Canada and New Zealand did not join it. Why is it important? Because these two countries, together with the United States, Great Britain and Australia, form the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, which not only functions effectively in the field of intelligence exchange, but is also actively trying to expand, offering to join Germany, Japan, India and South Korea. ...

Nevertheless, the Canadians and New Zealanders were not called into the new military alliance. Although official Ottawa entered NATO as not just an invited participant, but a founding country.

It is likely that in this way the United States is once again demonstrating something that cannot be taken away from them - an understanding of the laws of marketing. In this particular case, it is political.

The formation of a new military bloc with five states at once will give a powerful reason for global information coverage once, after which, in the absence of breakthrough news, interest in it will slowly begin to fade. Gradual joining of all new states to AUKUS will create a much more favorable information background, primarily through stability and uniformity of coverage. As a result, the idea that "more and more states are striving to join a new military bloc" will look much more advantageous than "the new military bloc is showing signs of stagnation in the absence of paths for expansion."

New nuclear fleet for Australia

The first major decision taken within the framework of the new American military bloc was an agreement to create Australia's own nuclear submarine fleet. The creation of nuclear submarines on the fifth continent will take place with the active support of the American and British sides, military specialists and designers of which, in fact, will build submarines for the Australians.

Considering what is happening in the near future, it is quite possible to expect the deployment of British or American nuclear missiles in Australia. Moreover, the Australians already have experience of interaction along the "nuclear line" with the British. It was on the territory of Australia in the middle of the last century that the first tests of the British nuclear bomb were carried out.

This version is also supported by the fact that the Australian Prime Minister separately emphasized his country's lack of ambitions to create its own nuclear weapons. Translated from the political into Russian, this can be regarded as an open statement that the Australians will not create their own atomic bombs, but they will not place strangers ... There were no statements on this score.

Countering China

Forming a new military bloc, the United States decided not to philosophize and designate opposition to China as its key idea. Once upon a time, NATO was created with a similar goal. It was only then that the goal of military cooperation of the collective West was the USSR. Times change, old tricks remain.

In general, the formation of a new alliance was expected, given the significant strengthening of China in recent years and the sharp cooling of relations between Washington and Beijing.

The United States does not like it when someone tries to challenge their superpower status. And China is not only ahead of them in terms of growth economics and the GDP indicator (taking into account purchasing power parity), but it also continues to actively build a strong state in every sense.

Realizing that they cannot do anything with China's powerful economic development and its naturally arising global ambitions, the United States and its allies are striving at least to increase their military presence around the world.

This is especially important, given that the American side has already passed the peak of its influence in the EU, and then Washington will only have to give up its positions.

A new picture of the world

The new military bloc for the United States marks a new phase in the geopolitical constructions of official Washington. Apparently, realizing the concept of militarism as the only political way out for itself after several unsuccessful trade wars with the Middle Kingdom, the United States decided to start a systematic strengthening of its military presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

It is significant that the first act that is planned to be done is not the redeployment, but the creation from scratch of a new Australian nuclear submarine fleet, i.e. there is a “long-term game”, not short-term measures.

On the other hand, the desire to surround China with nuclear warheads from as many sides as possible may well force the United States to redeploy several dozen strategic missiles to Australia this time.

The trick is clear - Australia will not formally join the nuclear club. In fact, it will acquire quite real nuclear missiles. The United States, the country with the largest military budget in the world, has no problems with their stock. On the contrary, nuclear weapons, like any other modern weapon, are constantly being modernized and updated, and it would be logical to send the resulting obsolete units to the aid of an ally. So to speak, from the master's shoulder.

On the whole, if we analyze the most important geopolitical events of recent years, it becomes obvious that the creation of a new military bloc has been brewing for a long time. And it's not just the growing influence of China and the zealous protective position of the United States.

The preconditions for the formation of the new bloc came from, among other things, its other members. Take at least the exit of the same Great Britain from the EU. To a large extent, it was dictated not only by the desire to preserve the remnants of sovereignty, which the official Brussels gradually began to crush under itself, but also by the desire to get as close to the United States as possible. Negotiations on the creation of a bloc, with a high degree of probability, have been conducted for a long time, but what we are seeing now may well be the dawn of the formation of a new, if not a British empire, then a full-fledged Anglo-Saxon military alliance. And it is worth thinking about how to oppose China, like Russia, right now.

Racial, cultural, linguistic unity served as the basis for its creation, with its likely subsequent expansion to five participants.
For a full-fledged NATO-QUAD, it should include Japan, North Korea, India, Singapore and other state entities of the APR.
In order for the new association not to become formal, it must have an economic basis similar to NATO, and this is the problem today. The PRC has strong economic levers of influence on each and every participant, not to mention the potential for a fifth column - the Chinese diaspora.

With India, a bummer can happen. The Indians themselves are trying to populate Australia, but it seems that the Americans with the new alliance will prevent them from doing it! Therefore, she distances herself from such an alliance, if she is not offered part of the territory of Australia for settlement. But they won't! Therefore, India will prefer to stay in the SCO.
