China hints at the imminent purchase of Russian Ka-52K

18

Apparently, Beijing is interested in purchases of Russian Ka-52K ship-based reconnaissance and attack helicopters, the production of which has been established at the Progress plant in Primorye. The Chinese state broadcaster CCTV recently made a report from a rotorcraft manufacturer.

Hong Kong-based Phoenix TV also showed interest in the Russian military technology... The journalists visited Primorye and interviewed the sales director of the enterprise that produces the Ka-52. The close attention of the Chinese media clearly indicates the plans of the PRC leadership to acquire a batch of Russian helicopters that can be used on the 075 type universal amphibious assault ships.

Meanwhile, military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is causing concern in the West. Thus, the head of the Strategic Command of the US Armed Forces, Admiral Charles Richard, noted that Washington must reconsider its containment strategy with respect to the Russian Federation and the PRC, since both countries have a very impressive military fleet, nuclear weapons and powerful cybersecurity systems.

Ted Walters, head of the United States' European Command, shares a similar opinion. He believes that Russia poses a constant threat to America's existence. In addition, Russia and China are militarizing the Arctic region, which also worries NATO countries.

When the contract is completed, then we will rejoice. China has nothing to do with its helicopters. Or is it a bargain. We will buy helicopters from you, and you will lease Baikal to us for 50-100 years.

        - in this weight category, only the USA and Russia have attack helicopters

WZ-10 is in the same category as Apache and Ka-52

The difference in the maximum takeoff weight of three tons in the helicopter theme is a very big difference ...

              AH-64D - max. takeoff 9,5 tons, empty - 5,2 tons (BC, fuel - 4,3 tons)
              CAIC WZ-10 - max. takeoff 8 tons, empty - 5,4 tons (BC, fuel - 2,6 tons)
              Ka-52 - max. takeoff 10,8 tons, empty - 7,8 tons (BC, fuel - 3 tons)

All within the group. The difference in payload between the Ka-52 and the Chinese helicopter is negligible. Well, that the Chinese have the weakest motors - this is the problem of the Chinese. Make it more powerful - lift the takeoff weight. And most importantly, an attack helicopter never flies fully loaded in weight. More important is the number of suspension points.

                - well, and accordingly, our suspension points have more, then the difference in engine power and the amount of fuel indicates a higher level of protection and range of vehicles, I'm not saying that the WZ-10 is bad, it's just a car of a lower class, does it make sense to compare the Zhiguli with the Volga?
The Chinese will buy the Ka-52 - good, they won't - it's also not bad ...

the class is the same. As with any group, there is a lower border, there is an upper one.

The Chinese will buy the Ka-52 - well, they won't

                  - better. To this day, the Ka-52 is the best domestic combat helicopter, does it make sense to share the technical solutions used in it with the Celestial Empire? Of course, they are unlikely to make a copy (they don't have hemorrhoids with a coaxial circuit), but some spare parts, radar, PRNK, motors are of interest.

                    - they will buy everything they need anyway, the same WZ-10 Kamov development, three dozen cars were sold to Egypt without problems, what prevents the Chinese from stealing secrets there?

Do you think the Egyptians will allow them? Poking around in their cars, removing motors, blocks from them, taking them to the laboratory, conducting tests, incl. destructive methods? Unlikely. Buy yours and do what you want with them.

PT6C-76C from Pratt & Whitney have been on the first WZ-10 models for a long time, although the supplier company is punished for this, and its civilian version differs only in software and comes without restrictions. And on the KA-52, instead of the Ukrainian TV3-117, there is our VK-2500 engine, in fact, the modernized TV3-117. Nothing prevents buying a Ukrainian engine, and the VK-2500 is offered for the remotorization of old cars from Mil and Kamov. Moreover, the PRC recently acquired a batch of Russian Mi-8AMTSh (Mi-171Sh) transport and assault helicopters, which are equipped with VK-2500s.

As always, they will buy a meager batch, copy and release their Chinese clone Ka-52M with a nameplate - made in China.

Many Chinese have released their Ka-27, Ka-32

they quite successfully copied the American "Black Hawk" (UH-60 Black Hawk). They call it Z-20. What is called find 10 differences

They copied what they could. "Black Hawk" is quite a worthy role model. Kamov cars as an original for a copy, I think, they are not interested, because of the coaxial scheme. It scares off many with its relative complexity; for China, it will be a classic one. The same future Z-10 was originally designed as a "classic"

Yeah, and then the Chinese party press will write about these copies, how cool they are, better than their sources from the Russian Federation, and how the whole world dreams of buying these copies))

as they say, it was not even sucked from the finger))

The Chinese suggest basing on their UDC turntables of the Z-8 (transport) and Z-20 (anti-submarine and airborne assault modifications) type.

WZ-10, by the way, was developed by the Russian Kamov Design Bureau. The PLA has already conducted exercises involving these helicopters. So there is no need for the Chinese to purchase a Ka-52 or any other helicopter.
