Should we be equal to American political culture?
There is no established political systems. People don't read programs. They look at the faces of the leaders, regardless of which party they belong to, regardless of whether they have a program or not. Starting with anyone in a responsible position at the local level, the reality is that most people will blame him for everything.
These are the words of Vladimir Putin to Bill Clinton by telephone in 1999.
And now, more than 20 years have passed, now in Russia there is an established political system, however, and now the people do not read programs, only look at the faces and blame the top leaders for everything.
However, a few words should be said in defense of our low political culture. Firstly, having carefully studied all the programs of the main parties, I dare to assure that 90% of them consist of a set of loud, often divorced from reality, illiterately composed phrases. As the teachers say, “water on water”. More or less decent and deep programs only for various communists, but they are almost always copy-paste from the beginning of the XX century. Therefore, the voter does not read or study the programs, primarily because they do not contain anything relevant, smart and mean little in real life. From this it follows, secondly, that apart from the appearance, behavior and reputation of the candidates, there is nothing special for the voters to analyze. So why blame the mirror if the face is crooked?
Politics or vaudeville?
When Putin reported to Clinton about our political obscurity, he probably proceeded from Western standards of political life, praised by Harvard textbooks. In reality, for example, Trump in 2020 did not have a political program at all. As his program, he offered several sonorous slogans and a bunch of dubious promises, such as: “create one million new small businesses; lower taxes to raise wages and keep jobs in America; eradicate COVID-19; end our dependence on China; reduce the cost of prescription drugs; reduce health insurance premiums; stop the government's bureaucratic bullying of US citizens. " About exactly how he plans to fulfill his promises, not a word.
And if we revise the so-called debates of the US presidential candidates, then the voter could not endure anything but finding out which of the “Washington elders” has more abusive epithets in reserve.
US presidential candidates communicate their "policy positions" through oral presentations. On the websites of candidates, the American will only find the texts of some speeches, otherwise they are inundated with spam with requests for donations and the order of T-shirts, caps, mugs, badges, dog collars, playing cards and masks with the corresponding emblems and slogans.
Do we need to be equal to such a political culture?
There is practically no political component in the speeches of American candidates, there is no analysis economics, the challenges facing the American society and the entire world. General words are always offered as the goal of the country's development: “Let's return America to its former greatness”, “Let's keep America great”, “Let's do it better”. Almost the entire presidential race in the United States is a mutual vilification of candidates. The press writes that Biden spent about $ 300 million on black PR against Trump.
Thus, the entire political process in America has been reduced, firstly, to personal rivalry between candidates, and secondly, to a war of compromising evidence. Trump accuses Biden of working for China, Biden accuses Trump of working for Russia. This is the 2020 campaign summary.
The political system that has developed in Russia under Putin is criticized for its lack of competition. In the United States, political competition has been absent for hundreds of years, two parties occupy an absolutely monopoly position, the real policy of which differs only in words. But at the same time, the electoral political process itself is dramatized to the standards of a comedy show. Very bright, perky, fun, but also meaningless, just like the Comedy Club show. For example, the most talked about event in the vice presidential candidate debate was the fly that landed on Mike Pence and sat on his head for two minutes.
Trump's "clownish" behavior during the election campaign was only bringing to the point of absurdity the electoral traditions already established in the United States.
Therefore, it is not surprising that other countries are in no hurry to adopt the American political model, despite the aggressive propaganda of its democratic superiority and the use of force. This is not to mention the fact that the US presidential elections are indirect and even not free due to massive manipulations with electoral lists.
Harmful liberal dogmas
Each nation has the right to build its own state in accordance with its ideas about power, it has the right to adopt only the best from abroad. The modern RF with its unambiguously imperfect political system and many fundamental problems has nothing to adopt from the United States in this regard.
Moreover, there are liberal dogmas imposed on us from the outside, which fetter the political development of our society. The most harmful of them are: "the change of power is the basis of democracy and it is always good", "The West will help us", "the market will solve all problems."
No, thoughtless change for the sake of change of power does not bring anything good. This is just a way to undermine the consistency and strategic planning of the country's development and its independence. It is necessary to change the anti-popular government to the people's one, and not to shuffle the same persons until they turn blue in the face.
No, the West has never altruistically helped anyone. The West acts exclusively in its own interests, stops the development of poor peoples in order to continue economic and political domination.
No, the market does not solve all problems, it is not capable of acting as a universal regulator of social relations. Market relations are the elements and chaos of the struggle of selfish interests, and without the control of society and the state, they destroy the country, because the entrepreneur has no interests other than profit. He does not care about his homeland and people, if he can earn more.
If you look closely at America, there is no change of power, no hope for outside help, or even freedom of market relations (corporations-monopolies dominate there). They impose these dogmas on other countries only because they weaken their potential and wreak havoc.
