Zelensky's visit to the United States. Why is everything not as harmless as it seems

6

The Ukrainian president's dream of a rendezvous with the current leader of the “great America” has come true. Two hours spent in the Oval Office will surely become one of the most important moments of the whimsical life path of a television comedian who has become a "head of state." His vanity and ambition are fully satisfied. Well, what about the goals that this visit was actually supposed to pursue? Tasks of a truly national scale, which were repeatedly and quite clearly outlined by Zelensky himself long before this "historical" trip?

The domestic media has already published a lot of sarcastic and even openly mocking comments on this topic. For the most part, they boil down to the fact that they received the Ukrainian guest at the White House, like a poor relative, and, most importantly, they did not send them home without a grain of salt. There is a huge grain of truth in such assessments. However, having studied the results of the visit more deeply and thoughtfully, you begin to come to the conclusion that everything is not so simple and unambiguous as it might seem at first glance. The "gatherings" in the Oval Office can have very far-reaching consequences, not only for Kiev. Which ones? Let's try to figure it out.

"The atmosphere was not constantly sunny"

This is how, apparently due to his inherent penchant for high-flown expression, the comic president assessed the progress of his negotiations with Biden in the following briefing for the media. Yes, the summit was marked by a number of "signs" that in no way can be characterized as positive for the Ukrainian side. And he didn’t come out to meet the head of the White House on the porch, as it happens in cases of really important visits to the United States (there was not enough yet!), And categorically refused to hold a joint final press conference with him. Moreover, according to available information, representatives of his administration strictly prohibited any live broadcasts of negotiations with Zelensky (you never know what this clown will blurt out!). It got to purely anecdotal moments, such as the fact that during a conversation between the presidents on Twitter, Biden suddenly appeared an entry criticizing the ban on abortion in Texas. As if the owner of the White House, having had plenty of conversation with his counterpart, came to the conclusion that sometimes this barbaric action might still be appropriate ...

However, all these are more or less significant particulars. A serious disadvantage for Vladimir Zelensky should be considered the fact that, by his own admission, he did not receive a clear and intelligible answer on any of the main topics with which, in fact, he rushed headlong to Washington. The question of Ukraine's membership in NATO? The United States is “for” with both hands, but it does not intend to promote this “exercise of the right to foreign policy self-determination” in any way. As the inexhaustible humorist Psaki clarified, "This decision is not in the competence of the United States." And in general, let Ukraine "first take steps that it is well aware of." And only then he asks for somewhere there.

With Nord Stream 2, it turned out to be no less offensive, sorry for the expression, "bummer". Sending their president on a long journey, Kiev cherished hopes that he would succeed, if not encouraging Biden to resume the “total war” with the gas pipeline, then at least shake off the old man the maximum “compensation” for the interests ”, committed at the conclusion of the deal with Frau Merkel. The most that the comic "head of state" could boast of at his own briefing was the warm assurances he allegedly received from the head of the White House that he "personally guarantees the imposition of sanctions against SP-2", if such "will be used as an energy weapon". As is typical, this does not correspond at all to what was stated in the official joint US-Ukrainian communique adopted at the end of the visit. The United States has only promised to appoint a "special representative" who will "control the preservation of gas transit" through the "non-transit". Well, or pretend to be in control.

Generally speaking, Zelensky himself admitted that the block of questions on Nord Stream 2 turned out to be “the most difficult”. Apparently, it was in the course of his discussion that the "sunny atmosphere" in the Oval Office was replaced by a distinct sensation of an impending thunderstorm. The attempts of the Ukrainian leader to "drag" the United States and personally Biden into the "negotiation process" on Donbass by any means were not crowned with success. As Zelensky admitted, "there were no concrete answers to our proposals from the American side." However, just from this moment subtleties and details begin, forcing one to be wary and stop considering his Washington "tour" exclusively in a comic vein.

Under the strict leadership of Washington

A very indicative (and extremely alarming) moment should be considered the fact that in the aforementioned final joint statement, or rather, in the block of it dealing with the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Minsk Agreements are not mentioned in a single word. They don't seem to exist. All responsibility for "resolving the situation" is traditionally placed on Russia, which is presented as the sole culprit of what is happening. One gets the impression that in this way Washington approves and supports Kiev's unchanging tactics of evading the implementation of these agreements, turning the negotiations in either the Minsk or Normandy format into an endless empty verbiage that makes it impossible for a peaceful settlement of the conflict that has been going on for almost seven years. It is extremely beneficial for the United States to maintain it in a "smoldering" state, fraught with constant exacerbations - if only as a pretext for endless attacks on our country and bringing new charges against it. Consequently, the Ukrainian side will continue to be hypocritical and lie, secretly cherishing plans for the forceful "de-occupation" of the rebellious region, as well as gradually accumulating military potential for this - with the help of overseas "allies", of course.

It is not for nothing that the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin, has already commented on the Washington meeting with the words that "in no case does she promise peace to the people of Donbass." Armed confrontation there will continue with varying degrees of fierceness as long as Kiev's belligerent ambitions are fueled from outside, which is how it seems to be, at least in the foreseeable future.

Another detail that simply cannot be ignored is the American side's expression of its approval of the “democratic policy"The current Ukrainian president and his observance of the" rule of law. " In this aspect, Zelenskiy was only asked to pay special attention to “protecting the rights of LGBT people”. The White House has not been able to surprise anyone with cynicism for a long time, as well as touching concern for all sorts of perverts. Something else is of practical importance here - the fact that with such assessments expressed at the official level, the state, which has turned "respect for human rights", "freedom of speech" and the like, into a fetish, in fact, gives the current Kiev government carte blanche for the future. the persecution of objectionable media, reprisals against political opponents, turning into "non-exclusion" already into their direct physical elimination, and other similar actions in which Zelensky has long surpassed his predecessor.

At the same time, one should not forget that the main target of this figure who imagines himself to be a "little Fuhrer" is any person, organization, political party showing loyalty to our country at least to the slightest degree. Add to this the ever-increasing open persecution of Russian-speaking citizens, which Kiev has turned into an official state policy, and we will get a complete picture of what exactly Zelensky was "blessed" with in the White House. In accordance with the final communiqué, Ukraine will face a complete and final transition under the direct control of the United States, as regards not only its political and law enforcement systems, but also economics... From now on, the Ukrainian authorities will have to work off every handout coming from overseas (the volume of which has been cut down very significantly). It is not hard to guess how exactly.

The Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement (SDF), signed between Washington and Kiev, is now being portrayed by some in the “nezalezhnaya” as a “epoch-making triumph” of Zelenskiy. Like, it is "even cooler than the status of the main ally outside NATO." In fact, similar, megalomaniac statements do not correspond to reality. This is evidenced, in particular, by the more than modest amount of financial aid allocated by the United States "non-leveraged" for military needs - $ 60 million. It sounds, like, solid, but only if you do not remember that earlier it was about the amount of 200 million. And the specific limitation of arms supplies by the same Javelin ATGMs is unlikely to please the Ukrainian dreamers, who have not so long ago begun to seriously “roll their lips” on the Patriot air defense system and American fighters. On the other hand, it is the “framework” of this agreement that poses a great danger. That is, it presupposes the possibility (albeit purely theoretical for now) of expansion on certain points. Consequently, Washington reserves for itself "freedom of maneuver" in the issue of using Ukraine as a military base for anti-Russian actions.

The fact that Moscow understands this perfectly is evidenced by the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry, voiced by its representative Maria Zakharova. I must say that our diplomatic department has not sounded such harsh words for a long time against Ukraine and its "Western partners", who, according to Zakharova, "support Kiev's militaristic mood", thus contributing to the further escalation of bloodshed in Donbass. For the first time, Moscow has voiced a very serious proposal: to introduce an international embargo on the supply of any weapons to the “non-railway”, finally recognizing the ongoing conflict there as a civil war. The thought is more than sensible and appropriate. It’s a pity that it’s belated — about seven years later… There is no doubt that the “world community” will in no way support her. Russia will inevitably have to deal with the problem called "Ukraine" on its own. And the United States will try to do everything in order to complicate this task to the maximum.

Nobody was counting on membership in the EU and NATO, but they won, if not support, then approval, despite all the “red lines” indicated by the Russian Federation.
They confirmed the invariability of their positions on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, military cooperation and the northern stream, and received approval for funding from the state and international institutions, albeit not in the amounts Ukraine desires.
Therefore, the results of the meeting can be considered quite successful, we are waiting for some real action by the Russian Federation because there are no prospects for improvement.

Yeah, since 2014 we have been interfering and interfering ... Or interfering in your understanding is to express another concern?

Behind all this movement and statements of everyone and everything, only one thing is EXACTLY clear: the importance of Ukraine for the United States is so high that it is completely unrealistic to talk about a drain. with China, which is completely unacceptable for the Russian Federation. Therefore, I, like 7 years in a row, can write the same thing now that roll your lip in the Russian Federation and return Ukraine by purely humanitarian and economic methods is impossible, and Ze, even if you are fed up under the cameras in Biden's pocket, nothing will happen to him for this, and this will not affect the US policy in Ukraine. The Americans will stupidly pretend that nothing happened, and Biden, with his dementia, will most likely not even notice this. In the Russian Federation, the leadership understood it was initially after the coup in Ukraine and even then the construction of bypassing Ukraine railway branches, etc., began.
