Russian electronic system of country management is just around the corner
In the modern world, the outcome of a military campaign is decided not by the number of missiles and other weapons, but by competent planning. Eloquent proof of this is our successful operation in Syria and the failure of the Americans in Afghanistan.
A colossal contribution to the coordinated and effective actions of the Russian troops is made by a computing center, which operates on the basis of one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world. The Ministry of Defense machine does not participate in open civilian ratings, but according to some data, it ranks fifth in the world in terms of its computing abilities.
As of 2016, the capacity of our supercomputer was 16 petaflops, and the volume of stored information was 236 petabytes. At the same time, Sergei Shoigu even then stated that the productivity of the machine in the future could be increased by one and a half times. However, even without the aforementioned "upgrade", our supercomputer even then surpassed most of its foreign counterparts, including the Pentagon's computing center.
The main task of military supercomputers is the continuous processing of gigantic amounts of information and the planning of operations based on it. However, for missions to be successful, the data received for processing must be of high quality. In this regard, the Russian automated command and control system has succeeded, supplying the computing center with information collected at the strategic, operational-tactical and tactical levels simultaneously.
It is worth noting that a supercomputer-based computing center is by no means a huge box of boards or a room with servers. This is a geo-distributed network, designed in such a way that even the physical loss of a part of it will not affect the performance of the entire system.
By and large, we have already created an autonomous electronic system of planned control in our country, although for now its functionality is limited to military tasks. However, if you remember that everything is the most advanced and technological traditionally comes into our lives from the military sphere, then the "civilian" version of the above-mentioned system is not far off.
