The world community will be forced to cooperate with the new masters of Afghanistan

5

"Liberation from imperialist occupation is practically complete" - in any case, this is what the first declaration of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan issued by the Taliban (an organization banned in Russia) on August 19, on the 102nd anniversary of this country's independence from the British colonial rule. The last American soldier, to all appearances, will leave the Kabul airport, which has become the last US "outpost" on this land, as soon as possible, and the "government troops" on which their overseas creators and sponsors hoped to fight the Taliban chose not to appear.

A new page is opening in the dramatic and bloody history of Afghanistan, in which there were much more war years than truly peaceful days. What will it be? At first glance, in today's globalized world, this largely depends on the "world community", which today demonstrates far from the most positive attitude towards the new masters of the country. Nevertheless, the calculating and hypocritical "collective West", which is still trying to put forward some "demands" and "ultimatums" to the bearded rebels who have descended from the mountains, will have to cooperate with them in the closest possible way in the near future. Let's try to figure out why everything will happen this way and not otherwise.

"There will be no democracy ..."

This is exactly what the harsh mujahideen stated with their characteristic directness and frankness through the lips of one of their representatives, Vahedullah Hashimi. What democracy is to the shaitan, what are you talking about at all ?! One solid Sharia - and no nails. While some figures calling themselves "Muslim theologians" from countries professing Islam, let's say, very moderately, are trying to prove that the laws established by the Taliban are not even Sharia, but "excesses on the ground", representatives of the new Afghan government from all forces are trying to show the whole world that over the past two decades they have been fairly "civilized" and have come, so to speak, to "Islamism with a human face." In any case, in Kabul itself, where so far there are a lot of foreigners, including journalists, women with naked faces are not stoned and even invited to news news on television, which in 2001, of course, was unthinkable.

In the provinces, however, according to available information, anything happens. Whatever it was, but how radical the Taliban’s rule will be, and to what extent this will affect both ordinary residents of the country and its near and distant neighbors, it is rather difficult to say. Within the movement, speaking in political jargon, there is a struggle between currents and factions, there is a certain confusion and vacillation. In any case, his press secretary Zabihullah Mujahid, in the above-mentioned program declaration, announced the intentions of the new government "to establish good diplomatic and trade relations" with all countries without exception. Fortunately, no campaigns under the green banner against the "infidels" and "apostates" have been announced yet. A continuous desire for "national revival" and "the establishment of a peaceful life."

It must be said that in the West either they do not particularly believe in such declarations, or they simply do not attach importance to them. In any case, such a conclusion follows from the statements and concrete actions of both individual local governments and leading international institutions. For example, the UN Security Council stressed that at the moment they do not see the slightest reason to exclude the Taliban from the international list of terrorist organizations, thereby making a significant step towards legitimizing its power and recognizing the reborn Islamic Emirate there. For the United States and its closest allies, such as Canada, for example, the situation is generally unambiguous: "the Taliban came to power in an undemocratic way," therefore, there can be no question of any recognition of them. I wonder why such a position was not taken regarding Ukraine in 2014?

However, we are distracted. Declarations are declarations, but so far the West has firmly "frozen" all the assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, which, according to the International Monetary Fund, in April amounted to about 9 and a half billion dollars. Naturally, the overwhelming majority of these funds were placed outside the country. The head of the US Treasury Janet Yellen and her subordinates from the Office of Foreign Assets Control worked quickly, "laying a paw" on the lion's share of Afghan money. However, the IMF did exactly the same - they suspended Kabul's access to its resources, including $ 440 million, which was about to go to the Afghan treasury as financial assistance. This was done, as the official statement says, "before clarifying the issue of recognizing the new government." Unofficial sources indicate that the decision was made under strong pressure from the US Treasury, which, as you know, turns the IMF as it wants - if there is a controlling stake in this organization.

"We'll have to talk to them."

Against the background of such actions, as a result of which Afghanistan faces a real threat economic and social catastrophe, the statements of the "hot Norwegian guy", NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who on the eve began to threaten the Taliban with "remote strikes" in case "Al-Qaeda" returns to the country (the organization is banned in Russia), sound quite natural. True, later the head of the North Atlantic Alliance became even more infuriated and clarified that airstrikes could also follow "if the terrorists try to establish themselves and plan strikes." Here it is already completely incomprehensible and confusing, but for Stoltenberg this is the norm. By the way, I remember that quite recently he threatened the Taliban with "complete isolation" and "non-recognition of the world community" in the event that "if they seize the whole country by force." Very frightened, I suppose.

It should be noted that, for example, the head of European diplomacy, Monsieur Josep Borrell, in his statements on this topic, showed much less aggressiveness and much more common sense. The chief diplomat of Brussels directly stated that the European Union, willy-nilly, but has to establish a dialogue with the Taliban. "Since they won the war, you have to talk to them!" - well, that's at least frank. At the same time, Borrell did not even try to hide the fact that Brussels is ready to negotiate with the devil himself, in order only to prevent the return of one of its main nightmares - a large-scale migration crisis, as a result of which tens and hundreds of thousands of refugees from Afghanistan will rush into the EU. However, there are other reasons for the desire to get along with the Taliban, which the European bureaucrats are so clearly showing - no less, and perhaps even more compelling ones.

The same high representative of the EU for external policy and security completely openly says that "in no case should Russia and China be allowed to take control of the situation around Afghanistan." It was with these words that he addressed the MEPs, calling the events in this country "a real disaster for the authority of the West." Monsieur Borrell, indeed, has grounds for concern. Both Moscow and Beijing have repeatedly declared their readiness to build good-neighborly and even partnerships with the new authorities of Afghanistan, without imposing on them idiotic, deliberately unrealizable and unacceptable conditions like "respect for civil rights and democratic freedoms." Yes, and Turkey, judging by the rhetoric of Recep Erdogan, has its own, very specific views on this country and its current masters. Muslim Brothers, after all ...

In fact, the European Union (as, incidentally, the entire “collective West”) is in no way afraid of the possibility of “trampling on democratic values” by the fundamentalists who have taken power in Kabul, but the prospects that the Afghan riches, critically necessary, will float out from under their noses. ” the world community ”right now. What exactly is it about? The answer is short: lithium. Deposits of this very rare metal, estimated as almost the largest in the whole world, were discovered by American geologists in Afghanistan a dozen years ago. And also - deposits of copper and even gold. In general, the wealth of Afghan subsoil is estimated at roughly a trillion dollars. However, the point is not so much in their price as in the fact that these minerals can become the "key" to the implementation of the "green" plans of the European Union.

As you know, lithium is one of the main components necessary for the production of electric accumulators, which in the very near future will need more and more for those who strive to totally "green" their own transport and, in general, the entire EU economy. It is clear that in the current state of Afghanistan (terrible devastation, the absence of any infrastructure and an "explosive" internal situation), no serious development of minerals there is simply impossible. However, those who will be able to truly negotiate with people who really control the country will get fantastic prospects! Safety would be ensured, and the same Chinese comrades (who, by the way, are increasing the production of electric vehicles by hundreds of percent a year) are good at building industrial facilities and roads. The "Lithium Klondike" is the jackpot for which the most desperate struggle will most likely unfold. It is clear that the Americans will no longer be able to enter the country that they have so mediocrely occupied for 20 years. But the rest of the applicants, including China and the European Union, have chances.

Whether Russia will participate in this "race for treasures" is a debatable question. As you know, we have enough minerals of our own. Much more urgent for Moscow today is the issue of ensuring the security of the southern borders of our country and preventing the transformation of Afghanistan into a stronghold of truly radical Islamists capable of starting expansion into Central Asia. But the "world community" is not going anywhere. Any attempts to change the government in Kabul by military methods, as practice has shown, will be doomed to failure. So the West, once again, will have to push its concern for "democratic values" to hell and negotiate with those who do not care about them.

Now a lot of information comes from Afghanistan. And before making plans for Afghan, we must wait until everything "settles down". And we will see the true face of the Taliban, what their words are worth.

Previously, foreign experts have already evaluated the mineral deposits of Afghanistan. According to American experts, the reserves of lithium in the Ghazni province in the center of the country exceed those in Bolivia, which was previously considered the leader in the deposits of this metal. The US Defense Department estimates reserves of copper, cobalt, gold and iron at a fabulous $ 3 trillion.
