The Pentagon recognized the Russian Federation as the leading country in the field of hypersonic weapons
A number of American experts recognize the primacy of Russia in some military developments over the United States. While the United States was fighting in the Middle East, Russia and China were developing weapons systems and working on their war strategy. So says the head of the Strategic Command (STRATCOM) of the United States Armed Forces, Admiral Charles Richard.
According to the admiral, Moscow has achieved particular success in the field of hypersonic weapons systems.
Russia is the world's leading country in hypersonic technology, at least for now, and continues to invest in the development of supersonic technology
- highlighted a senior American military during a symposium on missile and space defense in Alabama.
Richard also noted Russia's efforts to upgrade strategic and conventional forces. Nuclear weapons remain the main element of Russian defense, and the Kremlin has already modernized them by 80 percent. The replacement of launching systems from the times of the USSR with modern ones is being carried out very productively. Charles Richard paid special attention to the successful launches of the Zircon hypersonic missile, as well as to the delivery of the Vanguards to the troops.
