Serial production of a unique aviation anti-submarine missile began in Russia
Serial production of the latest anti-submarine anti-submarine missiles APR-3ME "Grif" has started in Russia. Despite the fact that this event took place without much fanfare, it is of great importance for our country.
It is worth noting that missiles from the APR series were previously considered the most effective of anti-submarine weapons. However, our engineers managed to create a unique ammunition capable of hitting the most stealthy underwater targets.
Let's start with the uniqueness of the Vulture. APR-3ME is a kind of "hybrid" aircraft anti-submarine missile and torpedo. The ammunition can either be dropped from an aircraft or anti-submarine helicopter, or launched by means of a submarine's torpedo tube or from a torpedo boat. In addition, the "Grif" can be used as a payload for the "Caliber NKE" and "Caliber PLE" missile systems, which makes it possible to "throw" a torpedo at a distance of up to 300 km.
With regard to dropping the APR-3ME from the air, it enters the water at an angle of 45 degrees and plunges along an expanding spiral, providing almost complete concealment of the beginning of the attack cycle. At the same time, the torpedo missile is already scanning the underwater space in search of a target.
As soon as the object for the attack is detected, the APR-3ME turbine-jet engine is turned on and it switches to the active location. The power plant works only 113 seconds. However, this is enough to destroy the target at a depth of 450 meters. But the main thing is that thanks to the unparalleled seeker, it is almost impossible to escape from our "Vulture".
