What will happen after "Ash": Russia is ready to build a fifth generation nuclear submarine

On the eve of Severodvinsk, the solemn descent of the nuclear submarine K-571 "Krasnoyarsk" took place. This is the fourth submarine of the Ash project and the third, built in an improved version.

In general, the construction of the latest nuclear submarines in Severodvinsk is taking on the appearance of a typical batch production. However, the question arises: what will happen after 2028, when the Russian Navy will receive the last of the 9 "Ash" planned for construction?



In fact, the answer to the above question already exists, and it cannot but rejoice. The thing is that the work on the "Ash" allowed our specialists to try out numerous engineering solutions that bring Russia closer to the construction of a universal submarine of the fifth generation.

We are talking about the Husky project, the implementation of which will begin immediately after the last Yasen is launched. At the moment, the details of the "revolutionary" submarine are classified.

However, some points are still known. In particular, the fact that the "Husky" will be almost twice as quiet, but at the same time a quarter more armed than the "Ash" of the modernized version. At the same time, the main advantage of this project should be a high level of unification in units and blocks with nuclear submarines of generation 4+, which guarantees a lower construction cost with higher tactical and technical characteristics.
