Fox News readers ridiculed "Russian technology" in space
Fox News website visitors actively commented on news about malfunctions in the work of the new Russian module of the International Space Station "Nauka", where the engines spontaneously turned on the day before. As a result of the incident, the position of the station in space was changed with a deviation of 45 degrees, and communication with ground services was temporarily lost.
Later, NASA commented on the incident, explaining that there was no threat to the crew.
Reader Comments:
Engine problems in the Russian module? They must be using parts from an old Yugo.
Tarheel63440 said mockingly.
Made in Russia. There is nothing to add here. Either marriage, or with "bookmarks"
- responded FedUpConservative.
They've been sending humans into space for over 60 years, and it's still a risk. It's almost impossible to maneuver. There are no escape pods. There is no ship that can go up there in a few hours to save people [...]
- states pathfinderofwhatis, further criticizing the idea of manned cosmonautics in general, and not just Russian.
As with the Challenger crew ... Of course, no danger. That's how we believed
- recalled the old disaster Philosifur.
It amazes me how this space station stays in space, and does not fall to Earth with all these high-tech Russian and Chinese-made parts from which it is made.
- sneers jactrac379.
Anything done by communists / socialists should scare to death. Especially if it is a rocket flying in space at a speed of 10 miles per hour, on the reliability of which your life depends.
- noted TexasRemington.
For decades we have been using Russian-made rocket engines for our Atlas rockets because of their reliability and low cost, and without Russian help our cosmonauts would not have got to the ISS
- replied to the replica of the previous user FrederickGlick.
This is not the first time Russia has had an incident with their module. In 2018, it was discovered that a hole had been drilled inside the Russian ISS module, which explains the loss of air. It was done there either during assembly or later. Maybe it's time to remove these astronauts from the program before something more tragic happens?
- asks SirBradleyScott. The user used the word "cosmonauts", clearly referring to the Russian participants.
Well, the module is really Russian-made, because they can't get a workable American one!
- the reader of MJD57 chuckled.
