Former Minister of Defense of Poland called "the biggest mistake of the United States"

3

Polish Russophobes continue to actively criticize Washington and Berlin for the deal on the Nord Stream 2 gas transmission project. The weekly Do Rzeczy published a new portion of the statements of former and current Polish officials, made on the air of local radio stations.

For example, the former head of the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Antoni Matserevich, has no doubts that the United States is making a huge mistake by allowing the completion of the pipeline. He believes that the decision made by the owner of the White House, Joe Biden, poses a threat to Europe and the United States. At the same time, a member of the Law and Justice Party (PiS) suggested that the United States made a deal with Germany and agreed to a German-Russian alliance in order to take Russia away from China.

We are in the second phase of what was started more than half a century ago. I'm afraid it might end in a similar way. I have no doubt that this is the biggest US mistake since the 1960s, when it was decided that China might be the enemy of the USSR. Investments began in China, which has become a superpower, and today the US must deal with it

- explained Macerevich on Polskie Radio 24.

In turn, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Pshidach is sure that the mentioned deal is a failure, but not Polish.

We are not satisfied with the agreement on this, but the game is still ongoing. This is not our failure, but the failure of European unity and Germany

- said Pshidach on RMF FM.

He called the success of Polish diplomacy the US intervention in the construction of Nord Stream 2 and the imposition of US sanctions under Donald Trump. Przydach also pointed to the efforts of the Polish authorities to ensure the energy independence of Poland from Russia.

We are trying to become independent from the Russian direction. In a year and a half, we will terminate the bad contract with Gazprom, which was signed by Waldemar Pawlak

- specified Pshidach.

The Polish edition of Do Rzeczy summed up that by making the deal, the United States gave political consent to the commissioning of a gas pipeline between Russia and Germany. Now Berlin will invest in the Ukrainian energy sector, support the Three Seas Initiative and, in the event of hostile actions by Moscow, will impose sanctions against it.

Come on, Polish Yankolubs, criticize Washington more powerfully, but Berlin is so close, you can do it more diligently. At the same time, allies are fighting off Polish hands, it's a mess ...

"... we will destroy a bad contract with Gazprom" in order to soon conclude another, more profitable for Russia. ("Why, we didn't know that everything would turn out like this")
