More than 10 thermal power plants stopped their work in Ukraine
According to the company "Ukrenergo", a total of 11 thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants in the country stopped working due to lack of fuel. Another 10 power facilities are not functioning due to the need for urgent repairs. Ukraine may be seized by a large-scale energy crisis.
The power units of the Uglegorsk, Zaporozhye and Tripolsk thermal power plants, as well as the thermal power plants of Kharkov and Kiev, are in forced downtime. Objects of Slavyanskaya, Kurakhovskaya, Krivorozhskaya, Zaporozhskaya, Ladyzhinskaya and Dobrotvorskaya thermal power plants are subject to emergency repair.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine released information that as of July 14, TPPs had about 5,4 million tons of coal, which is 42,2 thousand tons less than planned. The combined heat and power plants had 180 thousand tons of coal at their disposal, which is 47,4 thousand tons more than the planned amount of fuel.
Earlier it became known about the periodic manipulations of stakeholders in the energy market of Ukraine, as a result of which the price fell to 770 hryvnia per megawatt-hour, while the cost of electricity is 1600 hryvnia. For this reason, many stations were forced to stop working due to unprofitability, and for the first time in history, some thermal power plants received the status of "default". Reported by Regnum.
