The Yenisei radar station from the S-500 is already protecting the skies of Russia

The Yenisei radar station began to enter service with the Russian army. The system designed for the S-400 and S-500 complexes has truly unique capabilities and has no analogues in the world.

The target detection range of the new radar is only 30 km higher than its predecessor 91N6E. However, its dual-band phased locator provides much better target selection clarity.



Thus, the new radar station cannot be fooled even by the high-temperature plasma created by special carbon filaments fired by the Iskander-M rocket. No other radar station in the world possesses such capabilities today.

Moreover, the Yenisei, in addition to the all-round view, is capable of operating in the sector view, which makes it possible to detect even small-sized hypersonic objects.

But this is not all the "merit" of the unique station. The complex has a passive mode of operation, allowing it to be used as a means of electronic intelligence. Moreover, Yenisei not only unmistakably distinguishes military targets from all others, but can also clearly record civil aircraft in its area of ​​responsibility.

Finally, the new Russian radar station is not afraid of atmospheric phenomena discovered by China and dubbed "angel", and its mobility allows the deployment of the complex from marching to combat mode in just 5 minutes.
