Source: A full-fledged launch of "Sarmat" will be carried out in the coming days
In the near future, an intercontinental ballistic missile 15A28 "Sarmat" may be launched from the test site in Plesetsk. This was reported by the Voenno-boltovoy telegram channel.
According to the source, the launch will be carried out no later than June 11 from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, the landing of inert warheads will take place at the Kamchatka Kura training ground.
The upcoming tests will become a full-fledged missile launch, which is important in the context of Vladimir Putin's words during his message to the Federal Assembly on April 21 about the imminent entry of the Sarmats into service with the Russian army. The President noted that new ICBMs will be on alert by the end of 2022.
The serial production of Sarmat missiles will be carried out by the Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant. The launch weight of the rocket is 208,1 tons, the maximum flight range is up to 18 thousand km. According to experts, one missile can carry 10 to 15 warheads.
The Russian president also noted that the number of Kinzhal strike aircraft complexes, as well as ships equipped with Caliber missiles, will soon grow in the Russian troops. Also, the Russian army will receive Zircon hypersonic missiles. At the moment, the Avangard hypersonic missile system and the Peresvet laser combat system are on alert. Successful work is underway on such cutting-edge weapons systems as the Poseidon nuclear drone and the Burevestnik cruise missile of unlimited range.
