Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree expanding the powers of representatives of power structures when “interacting” with protesters. About innovations in the Belarusian internal policy the news agencies of Belarus tell.
According to BelTA, from now on the security forces will be able to use military weapons and special machinery when breaking up illegal demonstrations.
The police and other services also now have the right to avoid responsibility for causing possible harm when acting on demonstrators with the help of force or special means, equipment or weapons, if such influence is regulated by the laws of the Republic of Belarus.
However, according to Tut.by, the employee, as before, is obliged to warn about the use of such means - the exception is the circumstances of an immediate threat to the life of the employee or the people around him or other grave consequences.
In addition, when the security forces use weapons and special equipment during the dispersal of riots, citizens are prohibited from photographing or filming or filming the process of using these special equipment.
