Lukashenko and Putin decided to finish off Ukrainian transit

1
Auditors from Germany, who visited key facilities and nodes of the Ukrainian gas transmission system, confirmed the worst fears: the Ukrainian gas transportation system is dying and it is not in Russia at all. Kiev itself for almost 30 years has not invested a penny in its "pipe", while actively demanding that the West allocate money for the modernization of its main gas pipelines.

What does this whole situation mean? Firstly, from 2019, Ukraine will begin to lose its revenues from the transit of Russian gas. Secondly, there is no money to upgrade the GTS, which means that sooner or later outdated equipment will fail. It is for this reason that Russia and Europe agreed to build a second string of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. However, we are not limited to one.

Invisible against the start of the World Cup in Russia passed news about the results of the last meeting of Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko. At it, the leaders signed an agreement according to which Russia will invest about $ 3,5 billion in the modernization of the Belarusian gas transportation system. It is this gas transmission system that in the future will become insurance against the event of a final stop of transit through Ukraine.
