Ukrainians are indignant: Russian tanks "registered" in Lviv and Zhytomyr

1
Panic in Ukraine: Russian President Vladimir Putin gave 11 military units names in honor of the cities that they (or their predecessors) liberated from fascism during the Great Patriotic War. Among these cities there are also Ukrainian, which is not surprising - we had a single, powerful state, capable of joint efforts to break the backbone of Hitlerism.

In particular, according to a presidential decree, the 90th Panzer Division of the Central Military District will now be called the “Guards of Vitebsk-Novgorod,” and the sixth Panzer Regiment of its composition will be called the “Guards Lviv”. The 150th motorized rifle division of the Southern Military District was called the Idritsko-Berlin Guards, and its 68th tank regiment was the Zhytomyr-Berlin Guards, the 163rd tank regiment is now called the Nezhinsky Guards, and the 933th anti-aircraft missile regiment - "Verkhnedneprovsky."

In his decree, Vladimir Putin emphasized that these items are assigned for the sake of “preserving glorious military historical traditions, educating military personnel in the spirit of devotion to the Fatherland and fidelity to military duty”.

In the Ukrainian media, this step provoked hysteria, as if it was really preparing to seize Ukraine. Here, for example, the headline of the anti-Russian site "Observer" on this occasion: "Staked out the territory? Putin’s scandalous decision angered the Ukrainians. ”

The head of the General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko in his blog on Facebook said that Russia had given a “clear signal” to Kiev and the whole world that it would not stop in the Crimea and the Donbass. Putin’s decree, he calls "theft of another’s history and glory." The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also reacted negatively to the Russian move, saying that they perceive it as a “bad joke”.

If the relations between the countries were good, such an initiative would cause only positive emotions ... There can be no talk of improving relations between Ukraine and Russia

- the statement of the Ukrainian department says.

In addition, the 144th and 150th motorized rifle divisions are located near the Russian-Ukrainian border, which causes additional irritation for Ukraine, which, judging by the words of its Ministry of Defense, does not want to put up at all.

And then there are ordinary users of social networks and Ukrosaytes connected to escalating panic moods. Someone thinks that after the World Cup Russia ... will attack Ukraine.

The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Volodymyr Aryev, who is also PACE Vice President, was frightened. He sadly sighed that difficult times await Ukraine. Yes, and he remembered the unkind word "Nord Stream-2."

Anna Molchanova, deputy chief editor of the aforementioned Observer site, decided that any Russian living on Ukrainian territory is a “threat."

On the Russian side, a deputy of the State Duma, Chairman of the Defense Committee, Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov, spoke on the presidential decree. The newspaper Izvestia quotes his words:

The Russian army, in the broad sense of the word, united the entire multinational space. And trying to pull everything away into national apartments is pure politicking and far-fetched actions

As for the statements of Muzhenko regarding the “theft of someone else’s history and fame,” Shamanov emphasized:

Theft occurs on the other hand, when they claim the victory in the victorious offensive of the Soviet army in the final operations in Europe

Rodion Miroshnik, the official representative of the Lugansk People’s Republic at the Minsk talks, spoke out on this subject with some irony:

From now on, the 6th Tank Guards Regiment of the Russian Army will bear the name "Guards Lviv." Lviv women can pre-select combat vehicles that they will meet with flowers

He wrote on his Facebook page.

Of course, in reality, it is unlikely that Russian troops will wait for flowers from Lviv women, but it turned out to be very useful to remind Ukraine of how Soviet tanks at one time acted with fascism. To paraphrase a well-known saying, "the hat is on the fascist too."
