Only the lazy did not write about the likely revival of serial production of the An-124 "Ruslan" heavy transport aircraft. For about a month now, the media, both Russian and foreign, have been repeatedly quoting either the commander of the Military Transport Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the general director of Ilyushin, or some aviation experts.

Of the 55 aircraft of this type, two-thirds were assembled in Ulyanovsk. But you need to understand that the last An-124 was made 18 years ago, after which the lion's share of production capacity in Ukraine and Russia was dismantled. It is finally dismantled, and not preserved.



The Ruslan operators include only four organizations: the BTA of the Russian Federation, the Volga-Dnepr company, Antonova Airlines, and one company from the UAE. The main operator is the Ministry of Defense of Russia. In general, the demand for these aircraft is estimated as average.

But how likely is the resumption of production of these machines in the coming years? We answer - zero. And the reason here is simply impossible - the complete lack of engines.

      The reason for the lack of an engine is not the only one. Perhaps more significant, legal. In mechanical engineering, there is an immutable rule - the owner of production is the one who has the original documents. Design and technological. If there is no special order, then the owner is the developer. Only he has the right to change documents, interpret disputed issues, and only he is responsible for the production of low-quality products. From here, a somewhat complicated product is produced under the supervision and control of the script holder. Production is never complete without constant technically sound replacements, improvements, and solutions to current issues that are legitimized by the owner’s permissions. In order for the reader to have some idea of ​​the problem, I will say that the volume (weight) of technical documentation for the SU-27 aircraft in one copy is equal to the weight of the aircraft itself. Ukrainians, of course, will not provide support for production. Thus, even aircraft manufactured in Ulyanovsk cannot be certified, and not a single air traffic controller will launch such an aircraft. Russia will not piracy, because then it will take a long time to fend off lawsuits in international courts. Of course, the problem with the engines adds tar to a spoon of honey.

With large volumes of production, sometimes a copy is made from tracing paper to tracing paper. Which is transferred to the manufacturer and he is given the right to make copies of them. But this copy on tracing paper is called a duplicate. And the plant is not given any rights to distribute copies from a duplicate, apart from its own needs.)
