"Checkpoint" for 11 million: Russian peacekeepers built an impregnable "fortress" in Karabakh
On December 12, 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense published a video showing the equipment of the Russian peacekeepers' checkpoint in Nagorno-Karabakh. Netizens identified on the footage the fortification "Blockpost" from JSC "Cheboksary plant" Metallist ".
It should be noted that checkpoints are special fortified checkpoints capable of independently maintaining a perimeter defense. At the same time FS "Blockpost" fully meets these criteria. It protects the military from small arms fire and shrapnel, and also allows all-round observation of the surrounding area. "Checkpoint" ensures the normal work of personnel, including with personal protective equipment.
It should be noted that "Blockpost" is protected by bulk-type gabions GNT-2 and GNT-3. They provide protection to the peacekeepers of the observation post. There is a pair of quite comfortable living modules for the living of soldiers, a block module for cooking and eating, as well as transporttechnological block-module equipped with units for supplying constant electricity. All modules are equipped with the necessary household appliances, heating and air conditioning systems.
We remind you that in November 2017, the Ministry of Defense purchased through the public procurement website (order No. 0173100004517001705) 10 sets of FS "Blockpost" with a total value of 107,2 million rubles. Thus, one set at that time cost around 11 million rubles, or rather 10,72 million rubles.
It turns out that for less than 11 million rubles. Russian peacekeepers have acquired an impregnable "fortress" in a complex region. In total, 16 observation posts of Russian peacekeepers have been created in Nagorno-Karabakh. But how many of them will be provided by FS "Blockpost" is still unknown.
