Satanovsky: Europe is sick of Trump

The increasing pressure of the United States on Europe cannot remain unanswered for too long. According to Yevgeny Satanovsky, the extreme feature is the introduction of US duties on steel and aluminum trade for the EU countries, which in fact are the real sanctions themselves.

Trump did what Obama could not do: he convinced a significant portion of Europeans that the United States was not a defender, and not a partner.

Hence, the US’s intentions to squeeze Russia out of the European energy market with its supplies of liquefied gas are becoming increasingly illusory. The terminals built in Europe to receive American hydrocarbons are still empty, apart from a one-time supply to Norway, and only two countries - Portugal and Spain - are the only consumers of gas from overseas.

The reason for this is the lack of competitiveness of supplies from America due to the significantly higher cost compared to the Russian counterpart. And this problem cannot be solved by any means, including non-economic ones.
