Want to study in the West? Then become gay or feminist

Not so long ago, many people dreamed of getting a higher education in the West, and universities were considered the bulwark of free-thinking and the epicenter of a fun and free student life. But times are changing.

Getting a job for graduates in Western Europe and the United States is becoming increasingly difficult. Many of them work outside their specialty, including on the “working grid”. As for students, it is also increasingly difficult for them to survive. Prices for educational services are rising, becoming less accessible even for boys and girls from relatively prosperous families.

Such a deterioration in the situation of students is a natural consequence of the collapse of the USSR and the collapse of the socialist system. The West no longer has a serious ideological opponent, and students are no longer considered by the authorities as a potentially dangerous layer, skirmishers of mass protests and riots. But the point is not even the growing high cost of studying at universities and unemployment. Western universities are less and less like centers of education and culture, and the reasons for this are total ideological dictatorship and strict censorship.

In the system of modern humanitarian education in the West, a monopoly of left-liberal ideology has been established today. Any professor who does not share the left-liberal values of tolerance, anti-sexism, feminism, etc., turns into an outcast. As for students, they can simply be expelled from the university for “ideological inconsistency”. Yes, this is the “free” West, and not the “authoritarian” Russia or China.

Universities are trying to completely clear of politically incorrect personalities, which may include any professor or student who expresses doubts about the correctness of certain postulates of the ideology prevailing in Western countries. Such an objectionable person must be accused of being “not tolerant” of homosexuals or lesbians, people with disabilities or African-Americans. One of the favorite topics is sexual harassment, which anyone can blame.

As a result of such policy university life was under the complete control of the most active and close-knit groups of students, and these are either representatives of national and racial minorities, or LGBT people, or feminists. The atmosphere of universal control and dictatorship led to the fact that most American and British students prefer not to discuss political and social topics with fellow students, for fear of becoming known as politically incorrect. Teachers are even worse - they automatically lose their jobs if students denounce them.

The left-liberal ideology, penetrating the university education system, ruthlessly cripples and mutilates it. That is why there are numerous taboos to mention some words, phenomena, objects in university lectures. As a result, the whole topic of modern social life is unlit. Moreover, now in some US universities, African-American activists are demanding that the number of “white” and “black” classics be studied. Considering that the “whites” are nevertheless disproportionately larger in world science and literature, one can imagine how such requirements, if satisfied, will affect the quality of education.

Our “Westerners” in the education system should open their eyes wider and make sure that blindly following foreign models of organizing university life can only harm the Russian higher school.
