Kaliningrad blushed sharply on NATO maps
Kaliningrad Oblast is the westernmost outpost of the Russian Armed Forces. The Baltic Fleet is based in the Kaliningrad Military District, which includes warships and submarines carrying Caliber cruise missiles. The Iskander mobile missile systems, which can safely hit targets in Eastern, Central and Western Europe, have been deployed in the region.
S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems protect the sky from air attacks, and their density is the largest in the Russian Federation. No wonder Kaliningrad is called the bone in the throat of the North Atlantic Alliance.
Due to its unique location, isolated territorially from the rest of Russia, the Kaliningrad Region has militarily strong and weak points. In the event of the outbreak of hostilities in the Baltic States at first, the Russian Armed Forces may have a definite advantage. Missile strikes from the Kaliningrad region will hit military targets on enemy territory. The Russian army can come to the aid of its exclave from the Union Republic of Belarus through the so-called Suvalk corridor, which is only 30 kilometers long. According to some estimates, the NATO group will be able to effectively confront the Russian military for no more than 60 hours.
The North Atlantic Alliance is well aware of the military significance of Kaliningrad for Russia's defense capabilities, so recent years have been actively preparing for the preventive capture of the westernmost Russian region. The military exercises and maneuvers of NATO forces with big names around the Kaliningrad region go one after another. The usual legend of the exercises: a certain eastern aggressive country attacks small Baltic countries. In the NATO classification, the western special district received the Anti-Access / Area Denial combat index. Translated, this means that the purpose of the alliance is to prevent movement and maneuvers.
NATO is actively building up its forces in the region, and military recruitment has resumed in neighboring Lithuania. Reconnaissance planes regularly fly around the Kaliningrad region, American bombers are practicing the installation of mines from the air only 50 kilometers from the Baltic Fleet base. Alliance forces are currently conducting exercises called Saber Strike. It became known that the Kaliningrad region is already without any hesitation indicated on NATO maps in red as a target. The military of the North Atlantic Alliance is fulfilling the blockade of Kaliningrad from Poland and Lithuania.
The Russian command carefully monitors NATO military maneuvers near its borders.
