A serious alternative to bank deposits has appeared in Russia

Russians are less likely to bring money to banks and are increasingly interested in microcredit. In 2017 alone, the number of investors in microfinance organizations increased by 50%. Although investment in MFIs, in contrast to bank deposits and deposits, is a much more risky business, the attractiveness of microcredit is growing.

And this is not surprising - the interest paid on bank deposits has decreased significantly.

Now the average interest rate of banks in Russia is 7,07% per annum. Given inflation, such a percentage excludes the possibility of serious profit. Amid a decrease in bank interest, microfinance organizations offer their investors 16-20% per annum, that is, two, or even three times more. Naturally, even very cautious citizens, who had previously mistrusted MFIs, had already begun to invest in microcredit.

The government’s attention to the sphere of microcredit also played a role. Operating conditions have become more stringent, control more severe. There is one more nuance - in 2017, Russian citizens took 37% more loans than in 2016. While lending is so popular, the profit of microfinance organizations will also grow.
