Did Google go dark?

The American corporation Google has recently been implicated in a number of unpleasant scandals. Not only does the Internet search engine know everything that interests its users in the global network, it also tracks the physical location of gadget owners based on the Android operating system it created. Google knows where, where and on what clients of its services move in their lives and stores this data in the history of locations.

The American corporation monitors not only mere mortals, but also its employees. As part of an internal project called The Selfish Ledger, the company tracked its employees on video to analyze their behavior and individual characteristics. Workflow optimization was supposed to be due to more efficient manipulation of Google employees.

Extremely questionable from an ethical point of view, the Google Duplex Google Assistant project seems to be. This is a kind of artificial intelligence that should replace a person and communicate on his behalf, impersonating him.

But the biggest resonance was caused by the collaboration of Google with the Pentagon to develop the military aspects of artificial intelligence. The Maven project will give the intellect of an army of unmanned aerial vehicles, first reconnaissance, and in the long term, shock, which themselves will decide who to destroy. The corporation’s participation in such a collaboration with the War Department provoked a protest from its employees and a collective petition, but Google continues to work on the project.

Apparently, the motto “Don't be evil" is beginning to be forgotten by the founding fathers of the corporation.
