The attitude of Americans and Europeans towards Russia has always been special. Usually this is some kind of bizarre mixture of admiration and fear. Foreigners admire the natural Russian ingenuity and fear the excessive aggressiveness (in their opinion) of the Russians. Time passes, and the surprise of Russia and Russians in the West practically does not disappear.





Moreover, ordinary Americans and Europeans are looking on the Internet for new evidence of common myths about "these amazing Russians." A submarine on an ordinary beach, a horse-drawn carriage at a gas station, a car traveling on rails of railway tracks - which you will not see in Russia.

Americans say that Russian values ​​are fundamentally different. First of all, it is independence and initiative, which almost atrophied among the inhabitants of Western countries. Where an American or a European calls service, the Russian will prefer to do everything himself or, at worst, call a friend or neighbor. Drivers themselves clear roads from snow, and ordinary people are not at all afraid of minor home repairs, for which specialists in the West are still called in.

Of course, such qualities of Russians cannot but be admired. So, despite the complicated relations between the countries, many Americans sincerely sympathize with Russians and Russia. They even write that it would be nice if it were not for “idiotic Canada,” but Russia would be a direct neighbor of the United States.

Of course, Russian women also admire the West. The beauty of Russian ladies, who can now be found in abundance in world resorts, you will not see anyone. But personal qualities still cause genuine surprise, turning into delight. So, the British newspaper The Sun writes that Russian women are much cooler than the British. After all, Russian ladies can also jump with a parachute, "stop the horse and enter the burning hut."

Women from the USA and Europe, in turn, are pleasantly surprised by Russian men. They still have courtesy with women, the desire to look after beautifully, which over decades of gender equality has almost completely disappeared among European and American men. And of course, the foreigners are pleasantly surprised by the fact that in most Russian families it is not customary to keep separate accounts, and husband-to-wife or husband-to-wife money loans, so common in the West, look wild according to the average Russian person.

The main distinguishing feature of Russians is that they cannot be summed up under the prevailing “national stereotypes”. Everyone knows that the Germans are pedantic, the Jews are smart and cunning, the Italians are loud and talkative, but what are the Russians? No one can answer this question. Russians are Russians.
