UAVs will go along the Crimean bridge

Unmanned Technology confidently continue to become more and more common. And now in Russia it is planned to create an intelligent transport system, and the first test run of domestic robotic transport ended the other day in the Krasnodar Territory as part of the Caravan project.





During the tests, which took place on a specially prepared segment of the federal road Novorossiysk - Kerch (A-290), KAMAZ unmanned vehicles (trucks), as well as cars manufactured by the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute (MADI / MADGTU), an NGO were involved Starline JSC of the Russian Institute of Radio Navigation and Time (RIRV) and the Panorama Design Bureau based on the Skoda Superb and Ford Focus II chassis.

The process took place in a fully automatic mode, and only for control in the passenger seat of each car was a specialist. First, 5 simultaneously going cars were accelerated to 40 km / h, then rebuilding, passing through a traffic intersection. In addition, the computer’s ability to read in real time data on road signs, obstacles was tested, and the braking system was also tested. In total, each car covered more than 10 kilometers.



According to the test results, this stage of the Caravan project was recognized as successful - the automatic vehicle systems have demonstrated uninterrupted operation. What will be the next stage, while remains unknown.
