KAMAZ introduced a prototype tractor, which has no analogues in the world
The Russian auto giant KAMAZ presented a prototype of a tractor from the K6 family, dubbed the Continent. The new KAMAZ-54907 is an energy-efficient long-haul tractor, which has already been dubbed the car of the future, which has no analogues in the world.
In 2017, as part of the Comtrans event, the domestic concern presented to the public the concept of a new cabin, called the “Project 2020”. The new Continent is the logical development of the aforementioned project.
Despite the fact that the car externally resembles the previous KAMAZ-54901 model, the internal "filling" of the new tractor brings the family to a completely new technological level. "Continent" is designed for one person, which turns the cabin into a comfortable living area. There is a sleeping place, a refrigerator, a safe, a wash basin, a microwave, a mirror and even a crock-pot. And for drivers who want to keep fit, a set of expanders is provided.
However, special attention deserves electronics. The dashboard is represented by a continuous liquid crystal display on which all the necessary indicators are displayed. The on-board system is controlled by an additional 15,5-inch touch screen. Among other things, there are available navigation, internet surfing, watching videos, weather forecasts and more.
The function of the rear-view mirrors in the tractor is performed by cameras that display the image on the screens inside the cabin. There is also an on-board system that evaluates the condition of the driver, and an autopilot of the third level.
The new KAMAZ-54907 is equipped with a hybrid power plant. Economical the P6 engine has a flow rate of less than 25 liters per 100 km. The electric drive, in turn, provides movement of several tens of kilometers and allows you to save fuel when slipping or climbing uphill, as well as to exclude exhaust emissions while driving at the factory and warehouse.
About when the serial assembly of tractors of the new generation will begin, so far nothing is known.
