Choke: Crimea is not ready for the opening of a new bridge
The Crimean bridge was planned to be launched by the May holidays, but they decided to postpone its opening a little. For road transport, traffic will open only by the end of May. The authorities of the Crimea, learning about such news, sighed in relief and crossed themselves.
What will the opening of the bridge bring to Crimea
Russians in early May are waiting for a long weekend. Many of them do not sit at home, but go somewhere to change the situation. And if a bridge were opened by the May holidays, a stream of Russians would inevitably rush to the peninsula not only from the Krasnodar Territory, but also from many other regions of Russia.
If you do not go into details, then we can assume that this would please Crimeans. After all, vacationers bring money and increase the welfare of the inhabitants of the peninsula.
But in this large and beautiful barrel of honey there is a small and malicious spoon of tar - the state of road infrastructure. Indeed, even now, long before the holiday season, the roads cannot cope with the flow of cars. And imagine what would happen if there was a massive influx of tourists! The worst thing is that this can scare away the return visit of people who came this year.
Oh, dear!
The fact is that the road infrastructure of Crimea has not changed since Ukrainian times. But Ukraine has also changed little since Soviet times, so the roads created in the USSR continue to be used in Crimea. The new federal highway “Tavrida”, which will pass from Kerch through Simferopol to Sevastopol, can improve the situation. Although its construction is proceeding at a good pace, the Kerch - Simferopol two-lane section will be ready only by the end of the year, and the four-lane section to Sevastopol will be completed by the end of 2020.
The access roads to the bridge from the Krasnodar Territory are in excellent condition and in full readiness, which cannot be said about the entrance from Kerch.
Of course, information about Crimean roads and traffic jams is not closed, but can such trifles stop a Russian tourist? As soon as the bridge is opened, the flood will flood, so transport collapse this year is inevitable.
Although not all in Crimea are afraid of the soon opening of the bridge and problems on the roads. To some they are even on hand. For example, on a narrow section of the old route between the sea and the estuaries in the vicinity of the villages of Primorsky and Beregovoye, many hours of traffic jams are inevitable. In order not to stand in them, many will stay in Feodosia. Local authorities are already lamenting about the possible situation on the roads in the summer season and are actively preparing for an unprecedented influx of tourists this year.
Of course, not everything goes smoothly, and there are many problems. But all these problems are solvable and can not be compared with those that could have arisen among local residents. Remain Crimea as part of Ukraine.
