On Saturday, September 14, an attack was made on the oil facilities of Saudi Arabia. More than a dozen drones and missiles hit from the air, causing significant damage to the infrastructure. This incident stood on a par with past attacks on oil tankers and, most likely, will also go unpunished.
The responsibility for the "raid" took on the Yemeni rebels. However, the United States, without any significant evidence, accused Iran of a "mysterious" attack. Later, the opinion of the "hegemon" was supported by Saudi Arabia.
So why is the United States, which used to be able to powder any adversary and for less "misconduct," now confined to ridiculous verbal threats? There are good reasons for this.
Firstly, next year the next presidential election will be held in the United States. At the same time, the current leader, who would not mind staying for a second term, promised not to drag America into new wars. Secondly, even if a clash happens, the United States and its allies will certainly “cost a pretty penny”. After all, Iran is not Libya and Iraq. The state is a regional leader and has a powerful army, the units of which are also able to operate autonomously.
Therefore, in order to save face, Trump can launch a missile strike on Yemeni targets. This will be followed by a statement that as a result of the attack, the secret Iranian headquarters, which organized a raid on the Saudis, was destroyed.
And while Saudi Arabia has not reached the full volume of oil production, prices for “black gold” are growing in the markets, which, naturally, is in Russia's hands. Especially, given the attempts of the "European partners" to limit our supplies. In addition, the raid may significantly increase the demand for Russian air defense systems. The Patriot didn’t work.
And finally, this incident once again showed that the current USA cannot protect its allies. At that time, as our country confidently acts as a full-fledged player in the "Middle East scene", who has repeatedly proved that "he does not abandon his own."
